Default Drying up

Here in Little Beirut, 7.62x39 is rapidly drying up. Weirdtown, Oregon.

Just wondering if this is just local.

Weird, that's the 2nd time that I've heard that today and 3rd time this week regarding 7.62x39. Plenty of ammo available online but locally it has dried up some.

The farmers around here hoard it. That's why there's so much 22LR on the shelves these days.

One more good reason to be on good terms with the local farmers.

No reason to buy in store, more expensive price, sales tax, carrying it.

I can have the UPS guy deliver it to my door for cheaper at the click of a finger.

when you cant find it online, then it's time to be worried.

Wally World had Tula 40rnd for $9.87 forever. Now $14.87, and always sold out. Bi-Mart can't keep it on the shelf.

.22LR everywhere.

I agree. Same here basically. When I go shopping always go through the sporting goods section. Wally is about all we have in this part of the world as far as retail shelves. LGS markups are ridiculous on ammo. We have a 7-8% sales tax around here depending on county. Two years ago I was paying like 13% in the city but had Cabelas and Academy to pick from too.
Just bought online from SGAmmo this week. About my only option for 5.45.

That doesn't sound right. That or 'Pussyland, Oregon' has some issues.
The Tula 40rd boxes 7.62 haven't changed here at $9.49 per box and some ammo is even going down like the Winchester 55gr .223 in the 100rd box normally $39.97 now $33.67 and the Federal AutoMatch 325rd boxes of 40gr 22LR lead solids from $17.97 down to $14.84 each.
Good times here in outback Arkansas. But then again.........Wally central is in Arkansas. The logistics are easy.
I'll have to check the Tula 7.62 next time I get to town. Likely next couple of days. Maybe they are paying more from vendors on the stuff that's moving while all of their overstock is discounted. I figure everything Wally has been selling this year came from orders placed before Christmas last year when you couldn't find anything and especially 22LR.
They are also making room for a bunch of aluminum case ammo now which they carried very little of while the Perfecta and ZQI stocked the shelves.
One of these days we might see some Sam's Choice ammo..........who knows right?

Oregon governor is a carpet munching gun grabber. Not looking good in this neck of the woods. Guess it's just local.

Ah...I remember the days of buying online. Before I moved to Alaska. I have a good pile in storage in TX. It's a little more expensive, but have to say I don't see a 7.62 shortage on the shelves up here.

Dont know, i ordered few cases and got them delivered to my door yesterday. But, obviously If you choose to shoot corrosive ammo that is your choice, do as you wish, i personally prefer RS side mounts. Matter of fact, i got two bottles of powder from lgs about a week ago and had to adjust front post to the left a bit because some mags would not lock in without filing.
So if you wanna be arsenal fan boy, its what ever, do your thing. Dont come back here crying when your rifle shows up crooked.

Walmart is always around at least $50 (before tax) more per 1K here vs online. Local gun stores more like $75 more per 1K vs online . I always buy online in 1-2K lots.

Exactly, I donít rememeber paying for ammo in local stores. Besides paying tax, crazy price tags, there is no selection at all. Thanks to Sam G. we could buy any Russian ammo without interruption and with the same or cheaper price than before!

SG ammo all the way. This is the time to be stacking it deep. 1k of GT was on sale under 200 bucks. Now it's 200. Wolf Mil Spec is priced great at 205 for 1k.
We better not hear any complaining when the 2020 elections come around that no ammo can be found. The way Antifa is rioting, 2020 could be really bad with Antifa going after Trump supporters. This is the time to train, train, train and stack it deep.

In all seriousness i cant tell whether some of you are simply blind, ignorant or stupid..
OP made a post about local availability of the ammo and ya derailed it to praising online purchases.

Here in NW FL ammo market it shit to begin with. 7.62 can be found for some stupid prices, from time to time few cases show up on armslist from people who getting out of AK game. I dont blame them.
5.45 is almost non existent. Academy has their monarch, but no one ever buy it. For almost two month i was counting and moving boxes around their shelf to see if anyone was buying it, and shit you not they have not sold a single box. For the past two years that i been here, i have not found a single 5.45 shell at the local range.

I placed an order Friday from Sportsmans Guide. $199 shipped for 1000 rds Wolf 7.62x39.
I don't know what you guys are paying retail in your neck of the woods but around Western Tennessee if you a case of wolf it's 289 and up. One local shop had sale a couple months ago and it was $239+ tax. At 10% tax that's not a sale compared to SG. I know a lot of people hate Sportsmans Guide but I am a fan.
