I didn't either. Take good care of yourself as all your injuries come back to haunt you.

I have an SBR'ed SLR-107CR (basically an AK-104). The more I see these pics though... The more I want a Krink. Damn this place! I will probably do some digging to see what I can use to trade my way into one without the wife noticing. The only part that will kill me is sending yet another $200.00 to Obama's boys.

Anything with an arm brace is definitely not a krink.

You're right, no one calls it that in the motherland, but they do in Afghanistan. And that nickname has gained popularity stateside. Nothing wrong with that. What is wrong is applying that nickname to other short barreled AKs.

There is only one krinkov, that is the AKS-74U.

Chkn thanks for posting the link to that very interesting article, this thread and that article prompted me to register this morning for an account here on The AK Files.

I'm currently deployed to Nangarhar Province here in Afghanistan and am only a short drive from Jalalabad and Peshawar, all places mentioned in this thread and in that article.

About four days ago I was speaking with one of the local Afghans at his shop, I was there to buy some morale patches, among them one that reads "Come and take it" and has a picture of a Kalashnikov. We started taking about firearms and when I showed him a pic of my Yugo M92 SBR on my cell phone he said "Oh nice, a Krinkov!" He asked me what they cost in the US and I told him that mine ran around $750 for the basic pistol, underfolder stock, brake, and BATF tax stamp to SBR it. He was shocked at how cheap they were in the US; he told me that locally the "Krinkovs" are favored and are very expensive, running around $2000 US (Select fire) a piece.

Anyway I figured that you guys might like to know what a "Krinkov" costs here in Nangarhar, Afghanistan.

Here are the pics of my Yugo M92 that I showed to the Afghan shopkeeper.

Everybody needs a rifle with a magazine longer than its barrel.

I think just call the shit a Krink. I know it's not the proper term but shit!

Imagine a silhouette of an AKS-74U with a 45 round magazine and those words on a t-shirt.

I'd buy one (or two).
