Default What do y'all think of this new front sight?

Ya'll think it's an improvement?

or

Leave grandaddy's MN alone! It was fine for the Czar, and it'll be fine for you!

That gold dot on the front post might be just the ticket for Mosin shooters who are half its age . . .

Get off my lawn, you young whippersnapper!!

I like it, I haven't checked on price or any reviews but it looks pretty functional

I like the fact that it is a bit more easily seen at the distance from the eye that the 35 foot long barrel of the Mosin puts that little dot from my ageing eyes BUT IMHO that elevation adjustment is the bomb!

I would like to see some close up pics of how the elevation adjustment works. Looks pretty bad ass thus far.

Check their web sight. Center rod held in place via a set screw. Current price is $27.50

Thumbs down Re: What do yuns all think? Pennsylvania pronunciation.

I like the idea but the use of a brass post will blow it. That post will shine on a sunny day and you wont get a good site picture. I have guns with gold beads and they suck. Under a few circumstances like in a dark place or dimmly lit range they work well but on a rifle that needs to work all the time just use a black post. NO apologies to Ed McGivern , Elmer Keith or Bill Ruger. Some of this is just marketing crap CRAP CRAP CRAP!!!!!!!!!

How about that stuff Nalioth? Now thats what I am saying! Just like the swamp people.

And its is Bling to sell to all the 20 somethings guys that like Mosins but cant hit where they aim at 100 yards.

Post One more thought on brass posts.........

On a serious note it will be hard to see that front sight even if you have young eyes. The idea is great just change the post.

I went shooting with a bunch of younger shooters and they all had the experience of shooting their Mosins at 100 yards. They couldnt find their hits and were all complaining and a bit unhappy. One exceptions was the kid with the scope. Most of this shooting was done off a bench rest and some of it was also their lack of training in marksmanship.

I did notice that day that alot of others had already equipped their rifles with scopes. Those of us with experience with old military rifles know this usual outcome with regards to point -of -aim versus point- of -impact. I held to the bottom edge of the backer and got it to print but windage still needed a little help. Otherwise it was fun.

This is a good idea basically just make a little change so it can work in the real world.
