I wouldn't call it a budget per say but I think the 7-800 range will get you a lot of handgun, anymore and your getting a lot of fluff that really isn't needed but maybe wanted?

The question came up when I found a new Springfield Range Officer for $725 at the LGS, I was going to just buy it "BUT" I started looking at other offerings in that price range. I don't want to spend a $1000 on every handgun I look at.
