POF MP5 QC?

How is the new batch of POF rifles looking? No cants? Good welds? Decent finish? Itíd be great if you ran a deal for AKFiles w/ a sbt brace

Hoingster 10-11-2017 09:33 PM

No comment on the new POF rifles?

The POF 5 Pistol & POF PK are budget based and look good for the 1299.00 that is being asked for them. A similar pistol by Omega will be 1599.00 and Zenith Firearms 1699.00 and a real HK MP5 close to 5K . There are no other deals or discounts to offer since it is already very reasonably priced .

As far as build Quality and function, my POF is as good as my HK's. Yes, the paint is subpar but the firearm itself is top notch.

Thank you good sir! With a description only like budget it does not illicit a lot of confidence. Especially at $1300. I just need one more small push and I’m in.

I guess I'll find out Tuesday when my POF shows up at my FFL. My Zenith will show up on Wednesday so I'll see how they compare.

Pics comparing the two please! BTW you’re my hero for buying both at the same time.

I ordered the Zenith 5rs and the POF pk. I'm planning on using the POF as my beater truck gun so the finish isn't a priority. I'd like an Omega version too and will probably get the K size in the future.

Thank you. You won't regret getting one. Be aware though, my concerns about the paint held true.....it's crap. I'm sure the paint on the new ones is terrible too. But I personally like the way it looks with worn paint. Besides, it's phosphate underneath so it's all good.

Tankboy 10-16-2017 03:48 PM

Good, POF is better than Zenith....Finish is weak, but mine has run flawlessly. Got about 1500-2k rounds through it now with no malfs and no cleaning it. Just keeps on going, I absolutely love it and fully encourage anyone to buy one.

I understood the new POF imports have a better paint job on them than the early imports. I don’t know if that actually came to fruition
Mine is a NATMIL import not FEDARM and doesn’t have all the lettering on it. The paint was soft and the cure was, degrease and bake in oven at 300 degrees for 1 hour.
Another cool thing about the POF is the lowers can actually be swung down. This can’t be done on the Zenith due to the shelf and corresponding grip frame recess. I’m sure if you use a steel grip frame it’ll probably work on a Zenith. Mine also is stamped MP5 on the top strap.
Other than that it’s as good as any HK.

Atlantic:

When you first sold the POF-5, you had a "Refinished" version. The "Refinished" version of the POF-5 involved stripping and refinishing the pistol with a manganese phosphate finished and then with a Teflon top coat. In addition, the POF-5 was test fired at the range and laser bore sighted to assure accuracy and function.

Will this "Refinished" version of the POF-5 be an option in the future or is the added costs prohibited?

Sabre5G 10-17-2017 02:43 PM

I have a Zenith. If I didn’t have the Zenith already I would jump on one. I’d put in a note to check for mag wobble

Atlantic Firearms 10-17-2017 03:39 PM

BEOWULF

We will not be offering a Refinished model like we did in the past .

Was this unit baked lite or baked heavy?

Oh, and the chamber was emptied first for sure!

Almost as good as Baked Alaska.
