Well, they gov signed the bill here in Missouri that would allow the CCW age limit to be dropped from 23 to 21, called my local CCW instructor and he confirmed it, got a fax in a couple days ago about the revised CCW and Tax Stamp laws here MO. Just wanted to let those in MO know if you are at least 21, you can get it now starting August 28th.

Personally, I think if you are old enough to be sent to war to die at the age of 18/19, then you are old enough to carry. If you are old enough to hold/buy a rifle at 18 then what's the difference?

Couldnt agree with the both of you more, why in the hell couldnt I get a ccw at 21 if I could purchase the handgun when you can purchase a handgun at 21 here in Missouri. I think if you are old enough to vote, serve or be drafted into the military, and most importantly be charged as a adult, why not get all the "benefits" of being a adult as well. Missouri, regardless of what some folk around here think, did in fact have some rather strange and strict gun laws around here. I think it was because of St. Louis and Kansas City mainly, with all the "youth" violence with dope ass gangstas.

You guys should look at Dutches Firearms if you live near KC. They charge $50 for the class and they provide the Simi-Auto pistol, the revolver, the ammo, eye and ear protection. Every other place that does the testing, charges $100 or more for their class and you bring your own firearms etc. They hold their testing in Raymore Mo.

Wow....23? That's ridiculous. I didn't think any state would be worse than just 21.....
Makes me glad for MT, no classes required, picked mine up two weeks after turning eighteen :D

As EE stated, a missouri permit trumps the montana permit in terms of legally being able to conceal while visiting or driving through different states. Im glad they got rid of the age minimum, it was INCREDIBLY stupid compared to neighboring states gun laws. Just talked to my dads cop buddy david, and on august 28th im going to take the course with him. He also teaches defensive handgun shooting and agreed to give me a basic class on that for free (Ive done handgun and carbine courses, but hey just another excuse to have fun shooting). I plan on getting mine asap, this part of missouri has been getting a little rough lately.

Fine with me, I don't travel anywhere, and the few places I would (thinking of a couple of road trips sometime), all honor it the entire way.

Now, do you have a permit, a physical card or are you just allowed to CCW in your own state? Without qualification and a card, I dont think you are allowed to carry anywhere but your home state.

I have an issued card. No qualification. MT almost passed a permitless carry law this year, but our governer vetoed it.
Even if we did go to where we didn't need a permit, I would get one, 4473's go faster, and just on the off-chance I visit a neighboring state.

Not a bad little deal you have there then. I thought maybe you have your state for free and then had to take a course and pay etc for the outside the state card. I guess I get some extra states for the $166 I had to pay heh. $50 for class, $35 for background check $65 for permit and $11 for non drivers license card or I could have paid $20 to have it put on my DL.
