A local gunshop has an AK in stock that caught my eye. Has "PolyTec Industies" (I think) stamped on the left side, rear of the receiver.
Importer stamp says "KBI" though. I checked the blue book and could find only the AKS under "KBI".
There is a milling mark where the model number used to be and then above that it has something else. "MAK 90" I think. Is this a true, valuable PolyTec or a lessor value import of some kind. The shop wants $499 for it used but nice.

$500 is on the high side for a used post-ban rifle (MAK90). I doubt this is the AKS listed in your bluebook. Pre-ban Poly's usually run about $800-$1200 with the milled Legend's and folding stock rifles being the more desirable models. I'm fairly certain the bulk of the pre-ban's were imported by Kengs.

yeah, sounds like a poly technologies post-ban. more specifically, a line-out.

figure a $400 offer....$450 maximum.

For some reason KBI took at lot the the post ban Polys and put the thumbhole stocks on these. Therefore they put there name on them! Campy's dead on the price!
