All "Black" AK's

Top is a Maadi with a Choate stock.

The middle one is a MAK-90 with US made hammer, trigger, sear, front handguards, pistol grip, non-folding stock. The front handguards are from a old Choate stock set.

The bottom one is a MAK-90 with US made hammer, trigger, sear, pistol grip, and non-folding stock. The front handguards are wood but I sanded them down, dyed them with leather dye. I ended up spraying them with several coats of truckbed lined and finishing them off with flat black.

I got a stock that was pretty beat up, had a bunch of deep dings and gouges. I filled them in with plastic wood, but they were going to look really bad when I finished it. Instead I decided to paint the wood black. Combined with a dark grey Parkerizing on the rifle it looked real good. From a tactical standpoint, black AKs make sense.

Here's another one for you to look at. NMH-90 in .223. K-Var stock and pistol grip. EG bakelites painted with semi gloss Alumihyde from Brownells. She's a real sweet shooter. That muzzle brake does it's job well!

Here's mine, Hungarian AK47 milled receiver. Wood replaced by Bulgie black polymer, Ultimak and Aimpoint and Krebs AK74 style brake.
