A friend of mine needs to redo the headspacing on a Krinkov. I can press the barrel, but what do I do with the current barrel pin grove? Since we have to move the barrel back (too much headspacing) and keep the gas port aligned, I can't turn the barrel and cut a new pin grove (that is, like a G3), nor can I just reheadspace and repin as the barrel will try to move to the old grove. I could fill the old grove with weld metal, but that will effect the temp of the breech, or I could fashion a plug to fit in the old grove. Or, I could repin it with an oversized pin once the headspacing has been fixed. What are my options?

You should just remove the old barrel pin and then correct the headspace. Don't bother trying to rotate the barrel. Just press the barrel in or out and then install an oversize pin.

Global Trades carries oversize barrel pins.

The other option is to use drill rod to make your own pin. Once the headspace is correctly set, the new hole is drilled slightly undersize and then reamed to accept the new pin. Check the headspace and then press the new pin in. Recheck the headspace and you're good to go. A tool supply shop should be able to set you up with the correct reamer and rod stock for an interference fit.
