I'm thinking about getting a few for my new AKs but am unsure about the reliability. Is it 100%?
Please divulge your experiences (with the blackjack buffer of course).

The only reason I got them for my AK's was on my first build the bolt carrier was hitting the rear tang. From what I've read, this doesn't happen to everyone. So I just installed them on all my AK's. No problem with function and they don't appear to have any wear.
I like them.

I don't have a Blackjack buffer, but most reports of them are quite good.
I did have the Buffer Tech and they work good except in one of my AKs. It caused short cycling and FTF's. I took it off and all works well. I understand that the Blackjack buffers are thinner, and would not cause the same problem that I had with the other ones.

the guy guarantees them for 5000 rds. I believe.I put them in every ak I build including my krinkov. So far I haven't had the first problem.I think they're great! buy one, shoot your rifle 10 rounds, rapid fire without the buffer.then fire 10 rounds with the buffer and I think you'll be sold.Just don't decide to make one out of any old piece of scrap rubber/tubing that you have laying around and then bad mouth buffers in general like some of these guys do when their homemade one doesn't work...prophet

If Mr. K didn't need em neither do I.
I've heard nothing but problems with buffers in AK's but have no 1st hand experience.

dear mr. drobs,
gee, thanks for your expert opinion.you really saved the day with the vast compendium of knowledge contained within that post.hey, did you hear, pneumatic tires work better than solid rubber ones, even though that's not how harvey firestone invented them.catch up!...prophet

Prophet, your the man.....I needed that after a day like today.
It's a $12 buffer at best... buy one and decide for yourself. To me it's like springs on cars, you don't need them, but it rides and handles a hell of a lot better with them. The only problems I've ever heard of is on some SKS's and I don't think it was the Blackjack that had the bad rep.

6500rpm,thanks bro'.sometimes I just have to cut loose with gusto.I know,12 damn dollars to find out.and that stupid argument that if flint and black powder was good enough for daniel boone,it's good enough for me is about f'ing lame.glad you got a chuckle...prophet

Not a very good anology since the modern kalashnikovs still arent being issued with buffers and most likely never will, but hey if you want a buffer, get one, if it helps you sleep better at night

hey colonel, what the hell is an anology?did you mean analogy? if so,I believe the latter(yes latter, not later)analogy of the gun powder/flint would represent a true example. As far as sleeping at night, once I have squared away all of the days assholes I sleep like a baby.good night...prophet

I got one for my Saiga and it does nothing. The bolt carrier barely hits it and the rifle shoots the same. My AK owning friend said the same thing about the buffer in his AK. Buffers may work for other firearms made for them otherwise they're a waste of money.

Shut up, fool. I have no first hand experience either, but my gunsmith, who's probobly worked on more aks that I've seen said to avoid them like the plague.
THATS good enough for me.
