This video shows a search warrant served by the Columbia Mo. police department. The cops bust in this guys house in the middle of the night and shoot his two dogs (one a pit bull that was caged in the kitchen and the other a Corgi) with children in the home. it turns out that rather than a big time drug dealer, this guy had a small pipe with some resin in it, a grinder, and what the cops here call "a small amount of marijuana" (meaning less than a few grams).

id have to think the dog was in his cage when shot only because i know of NO pitbull that hides in the kitchen when somebody beats down the door an thats where the dog got shot ..........if he was loose he would have been shot in the entry way as soon as they opened the door........at the begining of the vid they shoot a dog but then you hear a larger dog barking in the background , i think that was the pit in his cage in the kitchen but cant be sure

I agree, the dogs should not have been shot however the man still shouldn't have been doing drugs. They found a small amount but they were tipped off and got a warrant which leads me to believe he may have been a little more than a recreational user.

#1 I like most cops, I like the job they do. Kinda like volunteer fireman, it's
all good until you're up and you don't know shit about fighting fires.

So I am not going to get in a murdering rage over the cops shooting a dog or
two. And since I have never known anyone that has had their dog shot and don't
personally know any cops who have shot someones dog it's a little far removed

#3 My neighbor is a big young guy about 30. At three in the morning the cops
pound on his door with a warrant. He opens the door, politely, stays calm and
lets them cuff him, they then find out the guy they are after is next door. He
had a good laugh, no harm, made a few friends on the PD. Now he is a large
easy going guy. No reason his attitude won't work for a smaller easy going
guy. ( The gal next door to him built his house, sold it and built one next door,
they were after her boyfriend, legit mistake)

and # 4. You'll reap what you sow. You come in contact with LE with a bad
attitude they'll smell wrong on you and give you the once over.

Mandaree, let me start by saying I agree with nearly everything you've posted in this thread...untill the post I quoted above. The police had other options, safer options that wouldn't have led to shooting the family dog in front of a 7 year old boy. They seem to have had limited intelligence on the target house, and when you are going in 7 deep, or however many they had, with submachine guns, that is just fucking INEXCUSABLE. They could have easily watched his house, picked him up when he left, and executed the warrant without putting an entire family in danger. Furthermore, your logic, which has been sound up to this point, is a little flawed here. He had drugs in the house, yes. Wrong? Yes. But to take your line of reasoning here to its logical conlusion, I guess if the cops had kicked the door in, killed his mother, and sodomized his wife while making his son video tape it, that would be his fault because, well, he had weed in his house. So, since he is breaking the law, he just gets what he gets?

I've met quite a few good police officers in my life. I've also met quite a few who never, ever should have been given a badge.
