Romanian folding stocks

Anyone tried these Romanian sidefolding stocks yet? They are in the TAPCO and FAC catalogs for 30 - 40 bucks. Just wondering how the fit is on a SAR, and if they are durable and rigid.:huh_small

I've installed one. They fit solid. lock up real tight and work well but there
isnt any place for a cheek weld when shooting.I went back to wood.as they look kinda corny when extended and I couldn't bring myself to pin one in the
folded position. Just put mine away for after the ban expires.LOST

They fit with no problem--you just need to find c/s screws that will fit the threads. They are durable and rigid, also. I bought a pair from TAPCO when they were selling the welded ones, and had no problem getting a cheek weld, but I have used folding stocks before and can work with them. They do look weird, but I suspect that they will keep increasing in price until the ban is reinstated, then will be really cheap.

Foam pipe insulation works fairly good to lay your cheek up against but can raise all kinds of hell with your face if you have a beard.

TAPCO stocks now come with the screws - lock up real solid. It's now my favorite folder (on PB MAADI).

The thickness of the pipe insulation needed to pad the wire stock out would be greater than what would fit between the wire and the receiver when it was folded, wouldn't it?

I had one on a NHM90. Fit good, locked up tight, but looked really funky, and gun seemed unbalanced. I imagin if I had replaced furniture with some liteweight stuff, it would of balanced better. I have an AMD65 and Polish PMKMS, both have pinned open folding stocks, and both look "right" and handle "right", don't seem unbalanced and are real nice shooters, esp. the AMD65. I won't buy the add on stock again, I'd rather get the guns that were designed to be used with a folder.

The insulation will squish dwn but it looks kinda funky.
