THe measuring of OAL is reatrded, we are measuring our rifles barrle cant be less than 16" is just so stupid. I mean really who even let these ppl breathe who made up these stupid laws, for Christ sakes we have to measure our guns, I mean really... It doesnt make a damned bit of sense to me at all, they should be whatever length we so choose, this is bullshit and uncosntitutional! Same wiht registered machine guns, oh big deal that they are full auto, we need to take back our constituion and throw it in the Feds face for all this bullshit!

Back in the days of Bonnie and Clyde, handguns were not the small cannons we have today. A "heavy .38" and the new .357 magnum were the "world's most powerful handgun" back then. Mr. Barrow was something of an amateur gunsmith, as were several other bandits. They made what Clyde called "Whippit" guns, a full size rifle or machine gun like a BAR that would be cut down on both ends to a length that would allow easy concealment beneath an overcoat and manuevering within the confines of a car. Clyde could "whippit out" in seconds and open fire with a round more powerful than any handgun. It was mainly these types of guns that the NFA was going after with the length requirements.

Of course, nowdays we have TC Contenders that can take down a T-Rex while breaking your arm and I'm sure someone somewhere has a Ma Deuce semi converted into a helluva handgun! Kinda obsolete as far as "whippit" guns go, but repealing the NFA, barring a successful SCOTUS challenge in light of Heller, is just about impossible.

CA is F'n worse.

I want a Taurus Judge - 45 long colt or 2&3/4" 410 shot gun shell. 5 shot - 6" barrel or smaller frame 2" barrel.

Also the derringer Judge is cool also.
