Yesterday I was making copies of the hand written "pre-arrival" orders. I was mentioning people by name to Dan as he stacked the copies. I distinctly remember seeing your order and commenting on how I have come to know some of the members as "freinds", or at least...clients!

It is a GOOD feeling. Dan agreed.

Anyhoo...as the "best" Tantals are the "newest", they were packaged with a plastic mag as issued by the Poles. We decided to add a steel one as an added benefit to our customers.

The FIRST BATCH of "Pre-arrival" orders will all get part sets that are as close to perfect as we can find as we sort onwards. The FIRST batch will be FIRST.

After we satisfy all FIRST BATCH orders, then we will fill "Collector's Grade" orders in the ORDER in which they are RECEIVED. We have not gone through 10% of the sets on hand and we are moving ahead at a good pace.

This means there are possibly MANY, MANY MORE "Collector's Grade" sets that will remain UN-SORTED when we complete the FIRST BATCH of PRE-ORDERS.

My Dad who is WolfsburgBob is at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital tonight with his mom who is my grandmother.

NaNa has suffered a stroke of some kind today and has taken a bad fall. Dad just left again tonight because she is not doing well. He asked me to watch the Files and answer easy questions. I'll try. He said for me to call Mr. Tobin if I get a question I can not answer.

Pops always said that the rush will come after his introduction sale because people were to skeptical about him getting his stuff when he was doing the pre-introduction orders. He knew they would be jamming the doors like a rock concert when the guns got here. He was right.

Dad spent last night slleping in a chair in the hospital. Sleeping in chairs is nothing new for him. He slept in the warehouse office chair last Saturday night when he was sorting the kits with Mr. Tobin. Dad and Dan are crazy guys.

Dad loves his mom and has always been there for her.

I am a very patient person.

I ordered at 10:15 AM CST on the first day these were offered back in April. I was told at that time I was 17th on the pre-delivery list. I've fallen off lists before - boo-boos do happen. I also understand that there were some problems with running CCs. I've read all the threads posted and from what I understand something should have happened on my order by now. I've seen nothing that would indicate that I'm even on the list or my order is being processed. I've written 2 e-mails to Bob and have not gotten a response.

I realize you folks are super swamped with work right now not to mention your family emergency

All I was after is some confirmation that I was indeed on the pre-delivery list. I'm in no hurry at all, but did want to ask if I was on the list. I've been in this situation before with other vendors and have said nothing and waited quietly and patiently only to be informed later that all stock had been delivered that was ordered and asked why didn't I speak up earlier.

So you see, I have 2 choices. One is to ask nicely for confirmation that I'm on the list or two, remain quite - ask no questions and think that everything should be okay. I really, really want one of the "collector condition" Tantals so I opted for choice #1. If I didn't really, really want a "collector conditon" Tantal I would not have ordered back in April.

So I hope you understand why I pose the question. I also hope all is well with Bob's Mom/ Stephan's Grandma

On July 2nd I took your order over the phone. You requested "Collector's Choice" and "Phosphate".

It has been six (4) working days at Akron Armory and ten (10) calendar days since you order.

Several thousand kits are in stock. With over 435 SOLD orders to unpack, grade, and package for shipment, it is very hard to make sure any customers get the "finish" preference (painted or parkerized) of their choice.

My oldest son has just returned from Incirlik Air Base in Turkey, completing his first (short) of two overseas tours. Next he heads to Aviano Air Base in Italy for his two year (long) tour. I can tell the Air Force has taught him some of the "patience" he was lacking, and something that I still pride as part of your and my generation..

I will honor your "Special Request" order, as it was a special selection for someone that "served" in MY time.

bob, got my kit today and all i can say is damn man, its nice grade 2 but appears unfired no carbon on the gas piston no stuff on your fingers after you run your finger into the gas tube...only reason. i would think its a grade 2 is the underfolder has some wear but the kit looks brand new

I got my kits today, and all I can say is WOW!

Bob came through for me on both occassions. If anyone is on the fence about dropping some green for the collector grades of either the PMKMS OR the Tantal, I strongly suggest that you do it, and do it soon. These kits are beautiful! I even got a NEW 5.45 Steel mag with my Tantal. I was NOT expecting this at all. Not to mention that someone took his time packing things up RIGHT; very nice.

I can now say that I am one of the fine folks that have had the opportunity to deal with Bob Williams, and now it will not be the last. Bob puts the hobby part in front of the business part for sure.

My reference to "Barbecue" is a joke shared by some of my fellow vendors and some of the members on the FAL and AK Files, AR15.com, Gunsnet, and Gunco.

I am refering to a "mythical" competition between a fellow "vendor" and myself to bring a certain product to the marketplace.

My competitor was a bit rushed and errant in his comments and claims about what was happening, and what would be available from the very begining.

I approach things like this MORE SLOWLY,..savoring the meticulous preparation of the "meat",...cooking the beast more slowly,...serving a mouth watering plate of fare,...and relishing the FINE dining after the feast is served.

While some of my fine friends from the "Southern" (Texas) areas of his fine country speak of their "Barbeque" as the best,...it is OBVIOUS that THIS (Polish) BARBEQUE was served by TWO YANKEEs, one in OHIO and one in PENNSYLVANIA!

Guys, I'm an exchange "student" from another Forum well-known to a lot of you, and I've just ordered my fourth kit from Bob (if you don't count the two Tantal mag packages), and I'm here to tell you: Bob dishes up the BEST barbecue I've ever seen! My kits are beautiful, and I can't wait to gain the needed skills to build them with the care and finesse they deserve. The underfolders are just about unissued!

Six weeks now catching up yet??

Bob's Tantals and Bulgy sidefolders are all gone now, and the PMKMS Polish underfolders are selling at a rate of about a hundred a day. There's a lively discussion about them, currently ten pages long, going on over at AK47.net-- http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=123&t=281207&page=10

--the kit I got was absolutely gorgeous! The wait was on the long side, but it's two guys against like ten thousand kits, and the product is great, so I'm inclined to be patient. I even ordered another kit last week for my stepson, who got back from Iraq in March.

Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining, I would just like to know what to expect. I ordered my kits July 8th and talked to Bob three weeks weeks after that. At that time he said I should be getting them soon. I don't want to waste his time, but I'd like to know when to expect them. Thats all.

--like I said above, they're taking about a hundred orders a ady-- but they can only pack about seventy-five, and keep the quality up. So far no one has gotten really upset, except one guy who we suspect may be a troll. (For a while I thought he might be Todd Bailey, but his grammar was too good, and he backed off a little-- definitely non-Bailey-like behavior). If you get really concerned, you can always call him, but he hasn't dropped anyone's ball so far. (He is a hoot to yak with, though.) He's gettinbg extremely tired-- they envisioned the sale of these kits as being a year-long project, and thanks to the ATF barrel-import restrictions they've sold two-thirds of them in about ten weeks-- grueling doesn't begin to describe it, but they've kept the quality mark very, very high throughout all of it. And the FAL kits they have coming haven't even cleared the paperwork yet--

I really recommend you go read the last couple of pages in the above link, to get an idea of what's been happening. Many other folks have been wondering about their orders also-- but no one has been shorted!

Anyone with questions may call TOMORROW,...NEW MONDAY HOURS!,..and check on their order.

Any time now. The "credit" being issued was the hang up,..so after waiting for another replacement card machine for over two weeks now, I have included it in the box!

They are floating around though. I spent a couple-three weeks North of here recently. (Working and being sneaky) I ran onto a bloke who had some of those kits. Looked like a half dozen or so. He said he bought them from a "hobbyist" who had bought them from "some internet based biz out of Ohio".

I just chuckled, gave the obligatory "oohs and ahhs" and went about my business.

If they were of Wolfie's old stock, it is just too bad I procrastinanted when they were available. I built upwards of a dozen Romy's back a year or so ago. Some were "as new" but none nice as what I saw in that fellas stack.

I wish I had bought 30 or so of Bob's Polish underfolders. But, fucking moron that I am, I figured we could always get them.

The Tantal and PMKMS kits I got from him "in the day" made two of the best-looking, best-running AKs I own. But I will NEVER forget the smell of the preservative they were packed in-- like A300 delouser, only concentrated. Eighty years from now, people working in the warehouses where these kits were stored will be wrinkling their noses and saying-- "What's that smell?" :laugh_sma
