I see all these $20 AK full auto kits.....is this all that is needed? My grandparents have tons of land up north.....would be cool to shoot full auto for a few days

magnus392
You can't not build a Full Auto anything, unless you are a class three manufacturer.. It violates Federal law, and the BATF frowns on that.

yeah, I know. But theoretically....

Your base armorer would be the guy to talk to then. He would be better informed of the regulations pretaining to military personel, and the possession of such an item on base. I don't mean to sound like a jerk but you will probably get little info on boards about that subject. These are watched by the BATFE, and we like to keep it all legal. Some boards have a Class 3 section that deals with more specifics and legalities.

military or not.......you build a auto anything, without being a 07, class 3 SOT you will get sent away, military personel are not exempt from the 86 Firearm Owners Protection act.......only military, meaning UNITS or AGENCIES, and LE, meaning police stations can buy or have newly manufaturered MG made for them....the MG belongs not to a individual person, but to a entity...with the proper paperwork, and tax exempted. you just happen to work for them.

I'm aware of that...

well if you are aware of that, then why are you asking about breaking a federal law? if you get caught with a illegal MG, which would be very easy to do as they will just ask you for the paperwork on it, not only will they charge you for having a illegal MG, but also will probably throw in a charge of having it on a federal reservation, conduct unbecoming a officer, etc... etc... etc.........seems like a sure and fast way to end your military career and end up at Leavenworth disciplinary barracks, and have a felony conviction follow you the rest of your life

The 10% rule always applies. I had an orifice, I mean officer sneak home a $100 pistol even after signing the guidelines about war trophies. He is now going to jail.

Jusk because you are an officer does not mean that you cant be a total assclown too.

colonel sanders
I think that is just stupid, You cant even bring home a couple of war trophies, i say let them bring home anything they want as long as it isnt select fire or an explosive, they are already risking there lives, they mine as well get something out of it
How did he get caught? and how long is his stay in jail?

PvtPyle
Well, I agree with you. But the law is the law. He got caught by running off at the mouth, then a 15-6 investigation ensued. When questioned he admitted it. He is getting discharged, with at least a BCD, maybe dis-honorable and a year in jail. That means he cant own a weapon ever again for a pistol he could have gotten from SGN for $100.

He knew the laws, and broke them. Now he pays. While I agree with you on the premis of the law, there is jack shit that can be done about it.

ssgbpowell
Pvt Pyle, What are the guidelines for war trophies like? What is allowed now?

PvtPyle
There are several policies that govern bring backs. AR 608-4 is the one for war trophies, but it is pretty much non existant now. There are no longer any provisions for bringing back individual war trophies. It use to be used for everything from web gear to guns. Now web gear and bayos are ok, but guns older than 1898 (C&R's and antiques) are ok. Nothing newer is permissable.

CENTCOM General Order 1A prevents the retention of individual weapons for personal use or as trophies. That is how a lot of people get into trouble over there. They have not been formally trained by a competent individual or unit (and had it annotated in their mob file), and CENTCOM generally views using them as personal use.

Then there are the unit level policies. They varry from one extreme to another.

For units, live weapons must be sent to APG, checked out for serviceablitity and then put into the Army system. They can then be transfered to the unit as sensitive items and must be inventoried and accounted for as such. Demilled weapons generally need local command approval, and approval from your home station or command. Thats where we got into trouble, we brought home a bunch of demilled but semi-intact items that could never be fired but could be used as training aids. Ft. Bragg signed off on it, State Dept and ATF in theater signed off on it but the state here got a case of the ass because we did not bring back any trophies for them (which would have been a violation of the law...). So now we are dealing with how they want us to account for them, and how the big Army say we have to.

It is a goat fuck and our state is really bad about trying to fuck us over and stab us in the back anyway.
