RANT ON!
A couple of weeks ago, I ordered 2 of the 5.56 mags that K-var had on special for $19.99, along with a muzzle device retainer pin. About a week later I get a small (4X6") box and when I open it, what I find inside was a DUPLICATE of an order that I had placed back in April, along with a packing reciept for that same April order, but signed off by another person than my original April invoice AND a charge card reciept in the correct amount for THIS new order (a total that was NOT the same as the April order total) stapled to the duplicate April invoice.
Hmm.
So, I called K-var and patiently and politely explained the situation and asked where my correct merchandise was? The girl then says "gee, it must be a mistake" and advises me that they will happily send me the correct items... AFTER I return the INCORRECT shipment.
:huh_small
So, I rush to the USPS and mail the items back via Priority Mail so that they will get them ASAP and hopefully get me my magazines WHICH THEY HAVE ALREADY CHARGED ME FOR as soon as possible.
Silly me! :laugh_sma
Today, I verify with my delivery confirmation that the returned package has indeed been delivered (Saturday) and then call to make sure that they are getting my mags out ASAP. What I get is the same girl, who informs me that they "will not be going to the mailbox until later today" so they cant do anything at this time. She seems very bothered to have to be inconvenienced by all this silly getting me what I paid for nonsense. The mystery in all this is just where IS their mailbox located, since I sent the return to a street address, as directed by her in my first conversation. I know that personally, my mailbox is in fact located AT MY HOUSE, which is much more convenient for me than, say, having it down the street or across town or something like that.
They sure do things different in Vegas!

Next time I'm in Vegas, I'll stop by and ask about your order.

K-VAR does not suck, you just had a single bad experience. That may be enough for you, but K-VAR is one of the best places to deal with in this business.

Actually, a quick use of the search function shows that I am not the only person to experience poor service from K-Var. I counted no less than 6 threads complaining about them on the first page of results alone!
I guess you are just lucky

K-Var's address is 5015 W Sahara Ave, #125. Sounds like they share their building with others, they may have a central mail box cluster like an apartment building. I've also seen PO boxes listed like that, they use the street address of the post office and #125 would be their PO box #. So going down to the mailbox for them might involve more than opening their front door. I would also imagine that since they regularly ship boxes, it might also involve a truck.
I have dealt with K-Var on many occasions and have always been happy with their service. I did have to return one item, sent it regular UPS. About 10 days later, pkg arrives with the replacement item.

Actually, their address lists a SUITE 125. Yes, I am sure that they probably use a group mailbox compound, but as of yesterday afternoon they still "hadnt been to the mailbox yet" and so I am still out my mags. They sure wasted no time CHARGING me for them, but they are obviously in no hurry to actually GET them to me.
This is total BS and NO ONE that portrays themselves as a LEGITIMATE BUSINESS should do business this way. Mistakes are sometimes made, its just a fact of life. But when you MAKE a mistake, if you are a GOOD business, you go out of your way to CORRECT the mistake as quickly as possible. Not when you feel like it or when it happens to be convenient for you!
I have gone out of my way to be very pleasant to them in my conversations thus far in the hopes of inspiring the same courtesy out of them. To date, I have not gotten even a SINGLE "We're sorry" out of them. Nor did they offer to pay the return shipping for the incorrect product. I had to ask them about it and they acted put out about it like they were doing me a big favor.
I'm sorry, I dont care if a hundred people have gotten good service out of them, right now, this minute, the service that I am getting is absolutely, unargueably, 100% crappy. None of this was my fault and I have done everything that could reasonably be expected on my end to rectify the situation.

And the final word is...
I called again today to inquire as to the whereabouts of my mags and am informed that they finally shipped them YESTERDAY and I will get them on the 15th of June. Apparently they didnt go to the "mailbox" until wednesday. Still not a single "I'm sorry" to be had.
I frankly dont care who has spent what number of $$'s with them, they will NEVER recieve another SINGLE one of mine. :skull:

I've dealt with K-VAR for years and have never had a single problem.
I had a problem with an order from Bushmaster that sounds similar to yours, but they corrected it.
You had a bad experience with K-VAR but it sounds like they are at least attempting to correct it.

I recently purchased a AKS-74 kit from k-var. Was very pleased when i received it- looked just like new. One problem.... when I pressed out the barrel i found that during the demil one of the front trunion rivets was drilled too deeply and they drilled into the side of the barrel. I sent k-var an email describing what I had found and with-in a day and a half they called me to rectify the problem. The following day i received a call tag to return the kit.(postage paid..this was yesterday) They have promised to send a new kit out as soon as my original arrives back in Vegas.
So long as they do as they've promised I'll be one happy customer!
And if they don't.. I'll be back to bitch about em.... keep watchin.

I'm not surprised you had problems with KVar. I called them and got someone with an Arab accent and so did my friends. I don't care to deal with Arabs especially when it comes to firearms.

Uh, Armenian, Bulgarian, and Russian, and good 'ol Americans (of all colors and national descent), but to the best of my knowledge, no Arabs....and not all Arabs are the bad kind dude.
K-Var has got one of the best reps when it comes to customer service.......if you think you can find the same stuff they have and at better prices with better service, you're free to deal with others, if you can find them.
Captialism man.

uzitiger~
K-VAR does not employ any arabs that I am aware of. You probably spoke with their shipping manager, who sometimes answers the phone. He's bulagarian and has an accent, and it does sound some what arab. Furthermore, your blanket statment should eb phrased better. If someone said "i'd rather not deal with jews, esp[ecially on firearms" wouldn't you be tempted to call them a Nazi? I know I would. A reversal of that statment is not any better. All the best, HTH~

I got my kit today (8/30)...and I must say...I am VERY pleased. This kit looks great- rivets drilled just enough to release the receiver- will make for an excellent build.
This was my first order from K-Var- Very small I'm sure compaired to some.(one ak kit and a few accessories) Judging from the service I received you'd think I had bought 100 kits. Thank you K-VAR for your great service.
buy with confidence guys.. they do care about us little guys
