Warsaw stock length

OK, I have read different postings all over the net on this. Is the reason for the shorter stock on the AKs to compensate for the fact most of that region is cold and they had so much clothes on they shortened the butt? An average Russian or Slavic person is about like an Average American so I am curiouse? I can understand why Asian countries would want short stocks because of the stature of their people but I didn't know if anyone REALLY knew the Russian reason? Personally, I much perfer the short butt over most American hunting rifles. I am average size but it just feels better. Thanks

Its a carbine. Not a hunting rifle. THATS THE ONLY REASON.

Slavic peoples, having intermixed with Germanics, Scandinavians and Central Asians for centuries are not uniform in size. There are very small Russians and very big Russians. Likewise for Poles, Czechs, etc.

As you say, a short stock size works better for people wearing heavy jackets in winter. This is the most likely reason, in my mind. Also a big guy can kind of adapt to a short stock but a small guy will have real trouble adapting to a long one. KISS. This way they only have to keep one stock in stock, if you will pardon the pun.
