They show some new photos I have never seen. Sure I love my PSL but I really really want the real SVD. Why won't they import these again? :-/

I know someone else will have a better explaination than me but I think it has to do with the weapons ban back in the day which halted the KBI imports and Russia not willing to sell it to us; i.e they stopped the export of their 7N1 ammo.

There is a 5 year thing, If some importer transferred a boatload of the Dargs and ammo to say "Germany" or any other country we import from, then they could be imported to the US(after 5 years). I suppose they are considered property of the country they are in after 5 years? If someone had the forethought, and $, they would be rich now! Canada should be allowed to import them. Have one imported to Canada then take delivery(after duty fee) in 5 years. That's the only way to get a new one, IMO..................Mike P.S. Make a group buy and store them for 5 years. Bet you could get them for under $500 US and cost you another $500 for import duty and storage. They would be worth 4 times your cost+ inflation, IMO

I have not been on your site in awhile. I just checked it and it's nice to see some new photos and a new theme.

The "Russian Agreement on Arms and Ammunition" signed April 19, 1996 between Russia and the USA prohibits the SVD from importation, basically forever. If there was a way to get them here there would be ocean containers full of them on the way. The "Out of Russia for X-number of years" rule doesn't work either. Russia has been selling SVD's/Tigr's around Europe since the early 90's. There are hoards of them in Germany and in the Czech republic (czhermex.cz advertises them from time to time) that have documented evidence of being there for well over a decade and they can not be imported. I tried a few years ago and my request was declined, the above rule cited. An SVD in Europe in private hands costs only 1500 Euros ($2250).

Check out Marstar.ca. They sell a lot of Chinese and Russian verboten weapons there. Just because they are in Canada doesn't negate the Russia and China bans.
