I just got about 50 rounds of 30.06 ammo today that is marked K A on the top and 7 2 on the bottom. Anyone know what it is? Where it was made?

It sounds Korean and the Korean 30-06 from then is dangerous. And it's corrosive. Don't use it.

If it's not American I wouldn't touch the stuff, I like my hands.

Pusan Arsenal, government run, Seoul S. Korea. If the primers are convex (rounded) they are definitely corrosive. If the primers are flat there is a 50/50 chance they are corrosive so in all cases consider this ammo corrosive. I shot some out of my P1917 Eddystone and it was fine. Used ballistol for clean up. No problems.

KA is corrosive but it shoots fine. the PS had some issues, but the KA is no problem. I have shot a bunch of it.

What issues did you have with the PS stuff? I don't think I shot any out of my Eddystone.
Did shoot a lot of PS out of the FAL's in 7.62NATO but it was far more modern dated and was fine.
Thanks.

some lots had brass splits, some had primer issues. I had a lot where 3 or 4 primers (out of 400 or more) cracked.

Thanks. Good info to have.

there was a list of PS lots reported by users, and reports of any problems (or reports of no problems). pretty sure it was on the old battlerifles site.
