On Tuesday, the Senate voted 70-29 (with the help of 10 Republicans) to kill a filibuster against appeals court nominee, U.S. District Judge David Hamilton of Indiana.

I guess no one is listening.
It's been mighty slow around here lately.

I've been here plenty lately:
My dog has had a real nasty staph infection. I was starting to think she wasn't going to make it and it has been literally 24/7 observation. I'll be up all night and then my wife will get up early so I can sleep until late morning and then do it again.
She is finally getting better but it was touch and go, still not out of the woods on this thing and there is still a chance for osteomyelitis or endocarditis.

Very scary. She's my girl. :sad_small
We do most everything together, no shit. We hike or hunt most everyday generally but not the past week and a half. I was finally able to take her out today but she could only walk alongside me as yet. No running for her.

But anyhow, I am up all freakin night and TV sucks.

It's a good thing, too.
Her Vet just retired. We got some young chickiepoo right out of Vet School that thinks she knows vastly more than she does. I needed to know what it was though--figured it was staph but there was no way to be certain. Then the initial antibiotic was ineffective--not her fault. But she didn't do a culture and sensitivity to fall back on.

I treated her like I treat humans. Changed her antibiotic to Bactrim DS and started using mupirocin ointment. Took a good day and a half before we turned the corner on it and by now that was about 4 days. Got ugly, she wasn't doing well at all and I was starting to think she might not make it.
She is 11.

She's finally making some real improvement.

Sorry to hear bout the family illness. She is lucky to have someone that knows what's what and has access to what she needs.

The fact is that the pendulum swing has been shifting to the left in this country since its inception. Swinging first right then left, but always the center of the arc has moved left. The supposedly extreme right winger Reagan was at one time a democrat and would have still been viewed as one by most any hardline republican of the 40's and 50's.

What we are seeing now is a situation where the right has become a leftist leaning organization and the left has become hardline socialist/communist. As such there is no real opposition to the Extreme Leftist agenda. Those who are true conservatives have been left out in the cold.

I don't see any answers. Yes, I'll keep votin' , even if it doesn't learn 'em. The Tea parties you look so distainfully down on are the perferred answer for me. They may be the beginnings of a new organized political opposition to the two well established leftist organizations. It may well be to late to attempt meaningful change thru the political process. But I see nothing wrong with trying. It may buy us what we need, which is time to organize...

And organize we must. 50,000 individuals running around causing havoic will accomplish nothing more than turn the great majority of Americans against us. 20,000 organized, united, dedicated patroits can accomplish a lot more.

The enemy controls the media, in simple terms what people will see and hear. Unfortunately for many that translates to what they will believe. Groups of one or two taking a stand will accomplish nothing, as their actions will simply be ignored. Even extreme actions (disruption of services or assasinations) will be written off as the insane actions of neo Nazi, White power, Nutcase sickos.

Organization is the tool that has been used against us, it is the tool we must use against them...

Creative events on the same vane as the real Tea Party.

Get them to make the mistakes.
Get them to piss off more of the populace while using means that rally people to your cause.
Get them to attack.

They are soooo arrogant. This can be used against them. They can be manipulated into making mistakes.

Devil's in the details, I know.



But whenever a big guy beats up a small one, what do people think, regardless whether they deserved it.

The left is so arragant today that they willingly play into our hands. It is good for us that the lessons they learned in the 50s-80s are being forgotten. They think they have the power and they are extremely anxious to use it.

Protests MUST continue at all levels. We will be portrayed as the fringe element. Coverage will never be in our favor. That is why how we represent ourselves is so key. One marginal protest sign, one guy in cammies, one guy flipping the bird, THAT is what will be shown. Not the provocation. Not the 99% who were "normal" citizens.

It all goes back to "Hearts and Minds". We will never get the majority of the lefts base to join us. Foolish to even try. Its the average Joe that you have to turn. Show that you are just like him, and that the actions being taken effect HIM as much as you. That what is happening is hurting his children and granchildren.

Our task is more difficult than theirs because our path is more difficult than theirs. Freedom and Responsibility are a hard sell compared to "Do what you want and we'll take care of you". We need to show that the rewards of freedom are greater than the benefits of slavery. That may sound like a no brainer to you, but for many it is not, largely because they simply don't understand what they are getting and what they are giving in exchange for it.

But FIRST we need to ORGANIZE. And, IMO, the Tea Party Movement is a good choice for a place to start...

Provided we don't waste our efforts on useless activities while they finish the destruction of our nation.


The real debate between all of us here is where we are on that curve. I contend that we are near the end, some say we are not close and still others, the majority (as usual) believe us to be somewhere in the middle.

I sure do hope you guys are right because if you're not, we are screwed. Hell, we may be screwed if I'm right also but then our debate is a moot point, IMO.
