View Thread: Idaho boy, 11, shoots black bear on family's porch

DRIGGS, Idaho – An 11-year-old boy shot a black bear on his family's front porch after he said it wouldn't leave. The boy was at his home near Driggs, just west of the Idaho-Wyoming border, with his younger sisters last Wednesday when the bear showed up. The youngster said he couldn't shoo it away, so he went and got his gun and shot it.
Black bears in the area have prompted multiple complaint calls, largely because they've been hanging around a transfer station.
It wasn't clear if the bear shot by the boy was also attracted by the transfer station.
Idaho Department of Fish and Game Officer Lauren Wendt said, "we got multiple complaint calls. We don't like to see them down this low. But it's not uncommon.'"'
Fish and Game doesn't plan on pursuing any claims against the boy or his family — and they issued them a permit to keep the bear.

OMG!!
At 11 this child has been turned into a bloodthirsty raper of the environment! He and his siblings should be IMMEDIATELY removed from the home and sent to a REC Camp. Hopefully, with love and and the caring atmosphere of the REC Camp Village Re-educators, this poor child can be saved.
I am afraid that the so called parents of these poor children are probably to far gone to be helped. Their offenses are serious and numerous:
1. leaving children alone at this age
2. having dangerous assault/sniper type weapons within the reach of these poor children
3. having ammunition in the home that will work in these destructive devices
4. failure to teach the children the proper respect for the environment. Imagine these poor babies believing that their safety takes precedence over the life of this beautiful, harmless wild creature!
I certainly hope the authorities are taking the proper steps to insure that like incidents can never happen again...

ME....Stir the POT!?!?
NEVER SIR!!
Not me.
Must be my EVIL TWIN.
What make this funny, in my opinion, is that there are really people who believe this...

Dude.... and we all know the kid lured the bear w food.
That's the Spirit! Obviously this is just a cover up for a Imperialist plot to rob the people of their environmental birthright! I am quite certain they MUST have used a lure/bait to force the poor creature to abandon its beautiful home in the wild and lose its fear of man. Undoubtedly they are in actuality POACHERS intent on selling the poor bears parts to China!

I hope the little feller gets a good night sleep on his
new rug.
