View Thread: A Father Beats His Son

lsmurphy
For sixteen years a father belittled, smacked, punched, shoved, yelled at, back handed, and generally abused his son, as his father did to him. There is a difference between the two, the sixteen year old will not allow his spirit to be destroyed. The hardworking athletic young man now looks down at his father by two inches, the boys back is strong and his will is stronger yet. The father is withering of age and his soul/spirit/drive is empty, a hollow shell of a man.
Change is inevitable, change came today. The father, starting in on his son once again instantly realizes that his "effective" form of discipline has created an angry young man, larger than him and filled with rage and any love and respect the boy once had for his father is gone. The boy stands up to his father, face to face, the son looking down on him yells out "NO MORE". The father's eyes trimble...change has come.

I've had this impression that the Fed will implode, just an impression with no definitve idea as to how, untill now.
I heard the question asked last Friday "when will the Fed lose it's effectiveness"? and my light bulb turned on. The answer is real soon. I think this HC bill, cap&tax, immigration, and the oppression that spawns of it will produce a completely ineffective US gov. I don't see the folks standing up to the monster immediately but they will, not out of a direct act of defiance but rather a 'shrug'. There will come a point in time when the folks will NOT be able to comply to all the demands made and the gov will not be able to enforce the laws and regs imposed and total anarchy will immerge. What is borne of it is what scares me the most, the unknown.

sounds like an 80's movie

"i just want to dance, dad!"
"no son of mine's gonna dance, yer playin' football!"

insert Kevin Bacon and gay music, you may have a hit on your hands

Actually party that's my personal story.

Good stuff. Yep. It is scares me to.

Some of us will get to bleed out out in a Wal-mart parking lot, some of us will watch our best friends bleed out, some ones wife will be raped, some of our boys will be sodomised, and some of us may get to experiance all of the above.

The collectivists have a brutal track record. They are Godless and evil. Every of Son and Daughter of Liberty seems to be chomping at the bit.......but we will all pay dearly for the tyranny that has come upon us.

you overcame, i see. That is greatly satisfying, isn't it? Better than sex IMO.

Doesn't scare me. I'm kinda looking forward to the big
shrug. It's been a rather dull ride complying up till now.
They've taken away my XBOX (Time) Cell Phone (Freedom of Speech)
Car (Right to travel unmolested/untaxed & Uninsured) my Apartment (Land)
and want me to go see the doc for a flu shot and
anger management pills. I think dad's a pussy commie.
And you know big brother was always a red hairy asshole.

It's time for the Shrug.

Meet me at the Alamo. Lol.

Pee Wee's Bike is in the basement.
The Chair is Against the Wall.
Mike has a long Mustache.
The Shit has Hit the Fan.

The Shrug you describe doesn't sound violent though. Some seem to get that out of it.

It would merely be the govt becoming irrelevant and the People ignoring it.

Others here see the seeds of anarchy being spread of this. Certainly somewhat, but at that point I think there will be enough people who are just not going to put up with any bullshit any longer and the govt won't be able to stop them any more than it will be able to stop the 'bangers.

So, in short order, if there is even a small percentage of 'men' left, the criminals would get the idea that it was over for most of them.

The issue at that point becomes what one does when govt lackeys come for you after you kill the rapist/pedophile/thief/murderer?

Govt irrelevance...a possibility for certain and there have been contemporary examples. Interesting scenario.

Doc, that's a trick question. If you kill all the rapists, pedophiles, thieves and murderers, exactly WHO ELSE is Obama going to have left to send? The decent cops and military aren't going to obey his unconstitutional orders, and the rest have no moral authority, only force that- at that point- would be met with force, and superior numbers.

Yeah, I'd say irrelevance is inevitable. The only question is how the collapse will play out, and what will follow. Guess we'll have to get on our knees and pray, that we don't get fooled again, hmm?

drjarhead
They are not going to accept their irrelevance lying down, of course.

They have put considerable time, money and effort at grasping for power.

They still can control the economy--"It's the economy, Stupid."
That they do through taxation, regulation and the money supply. That last one, money supply, means they can control the instrument of payment, negate others, and disperse it to whomsoever THEY choose.

Now there will be govt irrelevance in this scenario but not everyone will buy it.

We give further consideration to the .gov merely providing for its own brownshirts and gestapo. They would, of necessity, have to live better than we, the common trash.

We should also give consideration to the .gov bringing in foreign forces and support. I have never thought that likely in the past but with this bunch?
Wouldn't put it past them for a minute.

I wish the Military would surround DC and arrest every senator, representitive, obama and his staff and charge each and everyone with treason, special elections be held to fill the vacant seats with a stern warning that all new politicians who try and pass anything that falls outside of the constitution will be met with jail time,td

PS we are still free to dream right?

Not going to happen unless some very serious infringements into the Constitution occur IMO. The military is sworn to obey and they will, in general.

We should also consider what the makeup of the mil and their "civilian force" will be by the time they begin such infringements. We are beginning to see the evidence of that change now with special privileges going to certain demographics while others have their rights stripped from them.

When they launch their attack on the 2nd, expect some real bad shit to follow in short order.

Further, the military would go to war with itself in the scenario you describe. Some units would support the corrupt govt, others the Constitution and liberty. The benefit of that, for us lowly civilians, would be that they should expend much of their weaponry.

No, I'm afraid that the cause of freedom is going to left in our hands. Costly, but necessary.

Some people just don't have what it takes to be a parent. Discipline is important, but discipline is not beating...EVER. I'm am truly sorry that anyone has even had to endure that type of parenting. I probably spanked my kids a handful of times and if you asked them today they could not only tell you the details and circumstances of each spanking, but would agree that they deserved it. I simply cannot concieve why any parent would enjoy causing their child pain. Either I or they are broken, and I tend to think it is they.

The idea of my father ever being anything less than my best friend and confidant is something I can't concieve either. His last words to the entire family were that he loved us all, and there is no doubt that it was wasted breath on his part, every single one of us knew it very well. He was a good father, not perfect, but one of the best I have ever seen. I wish everyone could enjoy such a relationship, the world would be a better place.

Scott what you need to remember is this, It was not you who was broken, but your father. Possibly by his father, possibly not. In any case it is up tp you to decide if you are going to be a broken father or not. From what I have read here I doubt you are...

drjarhead
I think you missed the point, mmckown. ;)

Yours is a great story though.
My Dad and I were very close. Unfortunately he became ill and died at 34 leaving me at 13 and 4 younger siblings. I cannot describe what life was like after that.

Myself, I was a good father, but not great. The demands on my time took precedence and my son and I missed out on plenty together. It remains my greatest regret.

mmckown
Oh I got the point. I also got that Scott implied it was a personal story. I did not miss the anology, between the story and the effect on citizen/government relationships. If I miss interperted the story as both an anology and a personal experience, in both cases, then I apoligize.

But even if I am wrong the anology still stands. It is not the children (Citizens) that are broken, but the parent (government). No matter how hard the parent tries to justify his action, he can't, it is simply unjustifiable...

Thanks for describing my life. I'm the son. I'm trying to forget it.

mmckown, the cycle is broken and my kids know it. I don't need to waste my breath but I will.

The pain didn't come till later and the healing took a long time. It's just history now, matter of fact with little emotion connected.

My son reminds me of me and it's a joy to watch him grow, he's allowed to be himself, free in spirit. Of course I disipline but in love and with guidence. Actually I'm the push-over my wife will tell you, she disciplines.
