View Thread: High Capacity PSL Video

Tigr
Well just like the G3 has a 30 round magazine joined from 2 mags, this FPK (video calls it that) has two 10 round mags attached to makt it like an RPK.

I can't imagine the accuracy though considering once again the thin barrel being the biggest weakness.

I just fail to see the point altogether.

Tigr
Neither do I but there was a thread a while back on making a hi-cap PSL using converted Bren magazines.

With PSL mags selling pretty cheap right now; I picked up one last month for $12.00 instead of $29.99 which what they were in the summer. I figure they just welded 2 magazines together to demonstrate a "poor man's inbetween RPK/PKM" which is somewhat useless considering most insurgents seem to have an endless supply and access to actual RPK's and PKM's.

Yeah...a full-power 20rd squad automatic is sooo early 1900's.

Well the BAR is still one hell of a firearm...though its barrel is more suited for the job than its magazine size.

Rick_A
I agree totally. The receiver, operating method, and bolt/carrier design were more suited as well.

Tigr
Ludarcis as it may sound, I wouldn't mind buying a drum-style magazine for the BAR, if it can be done for the HK91/PTR/CETME, why not? :laugh_sma

I found 2 for $20.00 at the last G-show. Now I have enough spares to play with, so to make them fit my Tiger, as they are all I have to do is hold them in to the mag well for them to work, figure a little welding will make them fit just right.

Yeah, I don't know where all these surplus PSL magazines are coming from but the prices have just been dropping every month. BEFORE you modify the magazines, please visit the forum.gunboards or theakforum.com to check the thread on PSL serial number mags.

You may have someone's matching magazine, 1 in a million shot but who knows.

I would like to do the mod with the bren mags. simply because they are cheaper than PSL mags. Anyone able to to give me the instructions on this?

Their prices are about the same now. You can find a lot of PSL mags for $15 or less. Last year they were selling for $29 and up. Only reason to do a Bren mag conversion is to obtain the high capacity but for most PSL owners, there is no purpose to a hi-cap mag for it.
