Everyone in Britain could be given a personal 'carbon allowance'

Everyone in Britain should have an annual carbon ration and be penalised if they use too much fuel, the head of the Environment Agency will say.
Lord Smith of Finsbury believes that implementing individual carbon allowances for every person will be the most effective way of meeting the targets for cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

It would involve people being issued with a unique number which they would hand over when purchasing products that contribute to their carbon footprint, such as fuel, airline tickets and electricity. Like with a bank account, a statement would be sent out each month to help people keep track of what they are using.

If their "carbon account" hits zero, they would have to pay to get more credits.

Those who are frugal with their carbon usage will be able to sell their unused credits and make a profit.

Lord Smith will call for the scheme to be part of a "Green New Deal" to be introduced within 20 years when he addresses the agency's annual conference on Monday.

An Environment Agency spokesman said only those with "extravagant lifestyles" would be affected by the carbon allowances.

There are gonna be a TON of zany ideas in the future for keeping things "green" Being able to PROFIT for being "frugal" doesnt sound all that bad......better than just taxing the hell out of all things "non green"

I NOW recycle materials for 3 reasons....used to be 4 reasons.

The fourth reason that I no longer adhere to is as follows: To help the environment.
I stopped doing that as soon as I got a job. Every company I have ever worked for produces more trash in a week than i do in YEARS......so I no longer felt like I was helping anything.

Reason 1 I will recycle, PROFIT. Recycle scrap metal, cat converters, aluminum, copper, BRASS, ect. All the $$ goes towards MORE BRASS LOL.

Reason 2 i will recyle, RECOUP RANSOM. They charge a deposit for beer cans..... so i get $1.50 toward my next 30 pack if I bring back my old one, with chaw spit, cigarette butts maybee a little piss in the cans.

reason 3 SAVINGS. My town charges me $ to remove my trash. But takes away recycleables free. So if i separate the shit.... I pay maybee once every 2 months, rather than every week.

Well that made me feel a little better...............Their screwed to death too! :laugh_sma

The CA goverment is exploreing carbon footprint of plants and maybe previous generations.

Also a 5 minute shower ordinance and water limit for poor people only is being looked into. Based on a EUROPEANIN laws / ordinances. The shower 5 minute time limit device will be MANDATORY on all residences that earn less than $150,000 USD a year. These devices will keep track OF MINUTES used in the shower, buttt will not shut off the water in the tubb, but will start charging fees and fines as the device phones home and report to the Ministery of Mass Opression in Sacramento, CA.

All of these PC cons are just created to shake down the populus for cash. Non of the $$$$$ will go to fix any real problem. The $$$$ will be used for BS organizations and for more brain washing.
