View Thread: Flash-hider question

I bought one of the Arsenal Saiga conversions and one thing I don't like is the so-called flash-hider allowed a blinding white flash the size of a football, looks exactly like the flash from my un-modified Saiga! I have a $15 AK74 style flash-hider from AIM on my WASR 10/63 and it turns the flash dark red and only lets out about an inch or two. My Yugo M70 with just a slant-break was showing just a little red as well! I thought those were supposed to be high-dollar flash-hiders. Am I expecting something that I shouldn't?

Look at the AK 74 muzzle breaks, you will notice there is a difference between all of them even when they kind of look the same.

Chance the MB you got on the Arsenal/Saiga has the narrow top and wide bottom of the port(3,4 and 5 from left) so to direct most of the gas blast upwards pushing the barrel downwards (this would help on full auto action so to kill barrel climb).

Notice number 2 has equal sized ports, this is the most copied version of the 74 MB.

Is this the rifle in question? If it is look at the MB it comes with.

Answered your original post. What you have is an MB, not a FH. Swap it out to the AK-133 FH from K-Var and you'll be g2g.
