View Thread: Norinco Ammo?

I don't have much info on this ammo but I went by my friends house and he had a painted blue wood crate with 1080 rounds of Norinco 7.62 ammo. I didn't open the crate to see what colored box was in it but I can buy it at a nice price.
Does anybody have any idea what kind of ammo will be in the blue wood crate.
Just wondering if Norinco painted the wood crate to indicate what ammo is inside.

I'm not up to much on crate colors but here is a lot of info on Chinese X39 ammo if it's not boxed then the headstamp can tell you a lot about possibility of steel core vs. lead core. Either one will be good shooting ammo, the steel core will have a little edge on penetration but not by that much it's no AP ammo by any means just cheaper to produce at the time of production.
I just picked up a few boxes of Yellow box steel core at the gun shop for $5 a box couple weeks ago haven't seen that stuff around here in years. Would be nice if it's on strippers the Chinese stripper clips are very good.

Sealed crate? That may well be 7.62x51mm Ammo (7.62NATO/.308)...
Is that what you want? It is corrosive primed!!!
Not the common # of rounds for AK ammo from Commie China. Most common is 1100rds on strippers or 1440 in plain paper bundles of 20rds. The commercial ammo was 1200rds to a case in boxes.

Would definitely open up the crate before you buy could even be 7.62 x 25 Chinese ammo.

The ammo is 7.62x39.

That's consistent with my experience as well. :huh_small
Please post what you find when you open the case.
