View Thread: SBRing a Krink

I have a SLR 107UR on it's way and I plan to SBR it. I have heard that some of these need to have the gas port opened does anyone know exactly what is involved with this? Do I need to pull the gas block or can this be done with out doing this.

The gas port was designed for the krink length barrel. With the 16" barrel, the gas port is too large and creates too much pressure. So the manufacturer inserted a small doughnut into the gas port on the underside of the gas block (not the barrel), to restrict gas pressure.

Remove gas block, drill out doughnut, reinstall gas block.

Not overly complicated, but i did lose some of the crappy finish on the barrel during R&R.

Nice Krink GunPlumber

Is this also required on the SLR-106UR?

gunplumber
only if you want it to work reliably.

Thanks gunplumber. Can you tell me what this needs to be opened up to (size).

I'm pretty sure by drilling out the donut it comes to 3mm which is the proper Krink gas hole size IIRC.

Not required on the 106UR as there is not a grommet in that model. Port size stays the same, you just simply crown/chop the barrel.
