Mighty white of them, after they boned 90% of the poor guys like me that bought these for a grand before their market tanked. If these can be sold so cheap now, why were they so overpriced before?

Inquiring minds already know.

Arsenal: Start making AK-47 "Classic" again with the proper milled receiver, and maybe we'll talk. Now you're just another AKM maker. I sold off my SAM-7 and kept the Polytech Legend. better gun. More consistent and accurate.

So far.... it's worth the sale price of $499. Everything appears to be where it's supposed to be. I haven't fired it yet but their 25m test target showed a 4" spread.

I hate to say it, but I'm not impressed. Arsenal AKs have been described as the best of the production AKs. My InterArms Tantal is far better constructed and finished. Far better.

Like I said, for $499, it's OK. Why someone would ever pay $900+ is beyond me. In this case, it appears that you can finally get what you paid for.

I'm headed for the range on Saturday. I'll post the results on Monday.

I think the Interarms/High Standard Tantals are exceptional. Some of the best of the AK-74 world.

I got my Arsenal SGL21-72 (plum furniture, NATO length stock) yesterday. Mine looks awfully nice for the price. The test target with mine has a three shot group strung horizontally in 1-2" group. The printed cyrillic cover owners manual is a nice touch. I was surprised that the muzzle brake on them has a right hand thread, rather than the lefthand I have become used to on AK47/74 things. Unfortunately the latest estimate on opening the newly purchased range facility (the old one closes for the Winter on October 31st, and doesn't reopen until April, due to the terms of the land lease), for the outdoor range of which I am a member, is December 1st, so I won't be able to test it until at least then. I also noticed, when I visited their web site for the first time in a while, that Atlantic Firearms may also be selling a less inclusive selection of the new SGL21 Arsenals at the new pricing. I still think it was/is an incredible deal, all things considered.

I have to admit I was a bit hasty on my first impressions of the SGL21. Once I got it home and really looked it over, I was much more pleased. It's clean, has very good stampings, and everything is straight. My biggest concern is the test target. I'm hoping it's the shooter and not the rifle. I'll know by this time tomorrow.

This is a great buy. I'm glad I got it.

I feel bad for you fellas that live in a city - I live on a large tract of land in western NC and have a 100yd range behind my house, my cousin has close to a 300yd shot at his place Also, anyone wanting to go shoot around here that don't have a place to shoot at their home can basically just go out on a powerline cut & have at it, i am a ironworker/welder by trade & have worked for many months on jobs in the citys, i hated it, so i know how it feels knowing it's going to be weeks if not months until i can go shooting again - I hope your range opens soon bro!!

I feel my sgl21 was a great buy at $500, especially considering WASR's are around $400.
