Does anybody know if these inexpensive babies are any good?

The internet seems to be divided on this one.

Gracias and dankeschön!

If the Romanians can produce a magazine, so can the Koreans.

I've heard yes and no,

No clear one here... I've heard the Korean Glock mags are great esp for the price... I've had Glock mag springs go soft so, makes you wonder... At the price, maybe worth a try...

I have picked up the Korean mags and they do seem a bit "lighter" meaning thinner guaged steel make up... But how can you screw up and AK mag(ref romanian comment)....

I will say this, when the Koreans are on, they're ON!!! When they're off, you lose and they are OFF....

i said the same thing and bought a couple... pure junk. they wouldnt fit all 30rds in the mag, very sharp edges... sliced my finger open and have a scar from them. real garbage. i wont buy anything made in korea, especially if i have to depend on it in a life or death situation.

Can't we get any more good steel Chi Com mags back in? In my book the Chinese mags are the best. Haven't heard much about the Korean mags.

Earlier today I saw $12.99 Yugo mags graded at excellent to unissued at http://www.the-armory.com/

Which if you ask me, it ain't too shabby--especially when I've recently seen some old, shitty and beat up AK mags going from $20-$25 at a recent gun show.

I think the Yugo mags have a follower that stops the bolt when the mag is empty, then when you pull the mag out the bolt slams shut. Go Hungarian.

I really don't have any qualms with any Eastern Euro Commie mags. I do, however, need...want some of the Hungarian (I think) 20 rd. Tanker mags.

I bought two of them in June from Gunfarm. I have used them a little, maybe 4 mags full each through them. I've had no problems or stopages using them. They are lighter than military mags but look cool with the gray paint.

The South Korean's never used AK's correct? So these mags are just made for export?

panzertruppe
Export from them,

Import from all others...;)

AIM has Chinese mags on sale right now.
They list them as euro., but really Chinese flat backs. $9.95 or $8.95 in quantity. Most were shipped in free Hungaran mag pouches.

NEGATIVE, these are not good mags. If they are grey in color and stamped ATI on the bottom, then HELL NO. I bought one and the damned thing has a wobbly follower and the magazine mouth is entirely too wide. The 5th or 6th round I load into the mag causes the one underneath it to lose tension from the follower and the bottom round will slip out of the magazine. Total junk.

Yep definitely grey. Finish is an off tone grey and the couple I have don't even match the same grey. :laugh_sma The follower is a little wobbly, and the mouth is a little wide. This makes them not a good fit in tight mag wells either. Loading rounds does what he says it does, makes the round a couple rounds down in sequence do this weird hang up / loss of tension thing.

As to rounds falling out. Negative ghost rider. Not even if I drop it waist high onto a solid floor. I did it once by accident already. I did however (as I do with all mags upon arrival) disassemble it completely and clean it inside and out, lightly oil it, and check the followers full range of motion for hangups. (I push it through it's range of motion rapidly and feel for problems.) Seems tedious but... it will usually give you a pre-view of what you have to look forward to with a magazine's performance in the weapon. And I do it will all my comm-block magazines.

And this is where the tale takes a different road. They work. I have not had a single hang up in probably hmm... 400rds I put through a handful or so of these mags? They were sitting in my box full of stripper clips and loaded ammo as "untested" since they hadn't been shot on in a rifle. So that all got transfered to my range bag and so for the last 3 outing's those mags were all that the 7.62 AK's got shot on.

Not one function problem with them.

I paid like $8 each for them? (30 rounders) But they will cut your fingers off if you're not careful loading them.
