View Thread: Zeroing an RPK

puckwall
Hi All,
I just finished up a Yugo RPK build and am ready to go sight her in :-)
The rear sight is marked 0-10.
I've seen a few posts stating it should be zeroed at 25 meters with the sight set to the "N" position.
I assume that the N position mentioned is the same as the 0 that I have but I'm not sure so as usual I am consulting the all knowing minds here on the files.
Can someone confirm the zeroing process for this rifle?

Thanks for the help!

Most RPK's do not have the N or 0 position. Only the Yugoslavian RPK does. It should be the same height as "3" but being an RPK it might be the same height as "4". Measure the rear sight height at 0 and at 3 and 4. Other RPK's have a 590 mm long barrel. The Yugo RPK has a 542 mm long barrel. I think you should be hitting a bit higher than aim point at 25 meters. I'll dig out the charts and specs a bit later tonight and post them for you.

Put it on 1, Zero at 100 Yards / meters ... your done, for a "battle" setting, put it on N and you should be MOM good 0 - 300 yards / meters ... but as Always, VERIFY where Your rifle shoots.
