Is over sizing the pin the only way or could you weld up and recut the barrel?

You could, but the differeing hardness of the weld versus bbl steel could cause the bit to wander during drilling.

Good, just wondering about the heat effect. would trim with a cobalt endmill. Thanks

If it's a chrome bore barrel the welding might effect it.
