So 2 pre drilled holes in the receiver matched the holes in the rail and you added a 3rd hole?

I wonder if these receivers were destined for TGI before they sold off all their Bulgarian kits???

i hadnt thought of that .i just figured it was the nds-3 version of the 5.45

No, the NDS-2EZ receivers are a separate batch from what was made for TGI. The NDS-2EZ receivers have predrilled holes for the optics rail. The TGI receivers do not.

The NDS-3 receiver is AKM pattern, in caliber 7.62x39.

The NDS-2EZ receiver is dedicated for caliber 5.45x39. The NDS-2EZ receiver is made on a different set of dies than what is used for the NDS-3 receiver.
The NDS-2EZ receiver is the same receiver shell as what is the NDS-2 receiver, but the NDS-2EZ receiver has predrilled rivet holes for the front trunion and rear block, has 'S' and 'F' selector markings, has one selector detent, and has two extra holes on the left side for the optics rail.

Both the NDS-2EZ and NDS-2 receivers are much different from the NDS-3 receiver in overall shape, mag dimple pattern, mag well dimensions, ejector dimensions, and design of the lower rails. The top rails of the NDS-2 and NDS-2EZ receivers have the step down emboss; this emboss feature is not included in the NDS-3 receiver.

So the ez has more drilling eg: more labor, but costs less money then the NDS-2? Shouldn't this be the other way around? I would prefer the trunnion and back block holes being drilled, but don't really need the scope mount. Let the flaming begin!

NDS-2EZ has all the holes pre-drilled. The only drilling/filing you'd have to do is if the trunnion holes don't fit correctly.

Yes, I know the EZ has the trunnion and rear block holes drilled, I believe the NDS-2 does not have those same holes drilled; meaning the trunnion and rear block. I was just wondering why when it is more expensive.

Selling price is based on production cost. Many more NDS-2EZ receivers are made than NDS-2 receivers. This translates to a lower manufactured cost per receiver for the NDS-2EZ receiver, when compared to the NDS-2 receiver.

Harlan, thanks for producing a clearly superior product.
I think your receivers even beat the original Russian and east European stuff.

Harlan, thanks for the reply, that does make alot of sense, I know the peeps that do proffesional builds on the NDS-2 want $100 more to drill out those holes.
