View Thread: Help me identify these magazines.

I have two different types of mags that I am not 100 % sure what they are.
The first two appear to be M1 carbine mags to me. Only one is marked "Japan" on the bottom.
The other one resembles a sten gun mag, but looks brand new. It is marked on the bottom front of the mag, "KL GL C153422". Like I said it appears to be a sten gun or MP type of mag.
Thanks for any help.

After doing some research on the stick magazine. I have determined that it might be a .45 M3 grease gun mag.
Can anyone confirm or tell me more about this magazine?
Thanks

It sure looks like a Greasegun mag.
30rd, single feed, need a loader to fill them unless you have Gorilla strength fingers.
They were common, cheap surplus items for many years so many later .45 subguns and semi autos used them. Mac 10, the various tube based "sorta tommy guns", even the Uzi in .45 and a few AR15 .45 conversions. The usual "trick" was to make the magwell slightly longer than a stock greasegun, this made the stops hit before the mag could lock in. If you didn't know enough to file the stops down a touch, they could ding you for a $25 "special magazine" instead of the surplus $5 ones.

Thank you KernelKrink for the info!
What would it be worth in trade value, the grease gun mag that is. I have been wanting some AK mags in 7.62X39 and wanted to do some trading?
KernelKrink
"New in wrap" mags seem to be going for $30-35 each, used would be less of course.

Okay,
So if I was asking a trade for 2 metal european AK mags for the one stick mag, that would be fair? This mag is in very good condition.

What about the two other mags?

The "Japan" Carbine one is obviously a cheap knockoff, not a milsurp mag. Here's Rawles M1 Carbine mag ID page with 2007 values:

New made commercial ones are in the $12-15 range. Used common GI surplus around $30.
