I know it's a "rifle" thread but........
Went by GT's today and there was an old 3 screw single six w/ fixed sites, no transfer bar, 70-80 of bluing left, half cock and saftey cocked position, rifling still sharp, plain neat...
Woulda bought it but they wanted 229.00... What EVAH!!!!!! I told manager I'd give him 129.00... He said there are some Ruger collectors that'll pay that... I laffed, bluing off, only had the 22 mag cylinder, good luck boyo...
It'll be there a long time... And when it gets below 129.00, I'll be there;)... Was just neat seeing a well belt pistol at the time and now, even sans all the "safety" stuff... Just neat, like holding history.... Of sorts.

Old birds are dying off and thier progeny need money. There will be more wierd stuff floating to the surface. If you have a business front or ballz of iron, it would be a good time to put an ad in the paper saying "Buying guns". WWII dudes are dropping every day. They brought some neat schtuph home. I had one try to give me a MG15 once at an airshow. He told me it came out of a Stuka. I declined.... With a tear in my eye. The Emma Gee amnesty had just ended. Once an Emma Gee always an Emma Gee! Sad day.

Good point,
I know a few of these guys... For the most part though, they don't have any weapons of any variety... Good stories, but not a lot of weapons.... I'm always looking for these mother loads... If for no other reason than to preserve history... I tell'em that too... You got any stories, any artifiacts, ANYTHING, I have sons that want to hear and see this stuff.... Oh well, can only keep fingers crossed here...
My Mom was talking about grabbing a nice Luger from a co-worker she introduced me too.... Great guy, had a folding stock Arisaka... Would listen to him for hours... He has since passed and the family has the weapons now... She thought she mite be able to get a Luger and we could safeguard it... Come to find out he has a well educated family.... I was glad to hear that... More than scoring the gun.... They'll take care of it is my hope since they'er native Texans and Mr Morgan did a good job of raising them according to Mom...
But there are some less fortunate to have homes for these trophies... I'd like to be there when that time comes... Old gal at church, 100 yrs old, has a collection she gave to a friend to take to the gun show and sell off... SHe knows I'm interested and I'd like to see it, we'll see.. She's already given me some really neat things like an old blackjack and set of brass knuckles she found years ago workinig in an old diner she back in 30s... Classic stuff...
