View Thread: M70ab2 feeding problem

Hello i am Nac56, I have a milled M70AB2, Well I have 1 tapco mag, and it works fine, however i have 3 other mags that jam up, so i slowly handcylced the bolt and i found my problem, they are sitting too low and the bolt passes right over them, how do i fix this????

If the magazine springs aren't worn you might be able to to take a hammer and punch and bend the trigger below the selector stop up a bit. Avoid bending the rest of the receiver and maybe rest the rear of the magwell on a piece of wood. You just want to bend the bottom of the receiver up right above the magazine lever. This should raise the magazine lever and hold the rear of the magazine higher. This is pretty common with the Yugo AK's but the receiver is very thick and difficult to bend. Maybe a vise would help but don't press against the top of the receiver. The other option is to change the magazine lever to or weld a bit of material to the top edge of it to make it a bit longer.

Well i looked at it, seems impossible because of the fact that it is MILLED, i guess ill have to either put a new catch or weld some material *sigh, so much workd ive done i=on it, but i love it even more ^_^, another quick question, can i put one of ythose yugo rpk barrels on my m70?

I`ve got the same occasional issue w/ my ab2 having bolt-overs. Don`t know why the Yugos don`t have a longer mag latch to make up for the thicker receiver. Century mills down the selector stop plate to allow for the correct mag depth but nothing is done concerning up/down play.

pics would help
how old is the rifle? was it build here, or an original from Yugoslavia? some of the milled yugos have a "hump" milled into the receiver where the selector stop would be and if yours has this AND a selector stop that might be the problem.

do you have access to any other magazines to test this out? "long shot" but arent there some mags that would physically fit into the magwell, but are made for other guns around?

its built here, no dobt abou tit, and it has the selector stop and milled bump>_> anything i can do that doesnt involve welding?

Pull the Trigger guard off, Remove selector stop, reinstall without it. Enjoy.
