Old 3071

3071 was the SN of the AK-74 I just received from Akron Armory (WB).

OLD doesn't even come close. You know, years of indentured servitude to the forces of fraternal socialism, low pay, lousy service, all that ComBloc stuff. I am TERRIBLY disappointed!

This AK-74 is, literally, BRAND NEW. Not LNIW, but I contend Arsenal fresh.

C'mon, not a scratch on the parts (well the TG did have a small nick where they cut it loose from the receiver, but yatahey). Not a shine on the barrel from some death-dealing SpetsNatz taking it in and out of the rack, p-rading around lower Bulgaria or Afgahnistan. Not a scuff on the matched SN blade of my bayonet. No oil in the oil bottle. No stretching of the leather or fitments on the sling. The cleaning kit has never been used, and was never needed. I mean, WTH!

Why did I have to get a NEW rifle!? Why couldn't OBL have used this in A'Stan? Now I have to go out and find a suitable receiver (OOW?) to dress this out. And that receiver better be beautiful!

Hats off, kudos, and kind thanks to WOfsburg Bob for a superlative kit. EVERY SN part is matched, every one. He delivered quickly, sent me the automated tracking info, and delivered. I am amazed by this kit, and VERY pleased with Bob's customer service.

My use of "heir" in this reference was another one of my "sick" and "goofy" jokes that only Ted would understand. I have a habit of being a bit vague and "over the top" in my comments.

Ted Dannemiller is the very well respected "Evil Moderator" on the FAL and AK Files. A while back during a phone conversation with him concerning a major disruption between members and a past sponsor of the FAL Files, I told him it was a shame that everyone was locked in such a bitter battle on the "Board", and that HE had INHERITED the job of smoothing it over between the major combatants.....

I said to him,..."You are the heir to this misfortune,....You are..."Heir" Dannemueller!"
