View Thread: Brown Bear vs Golden Tiger

Was gonna order a few cases for myself and a friend.

I've only used a mag of brown bear. All the stuff I've got is golden tiger besides the stuff I got in sardines.

Would you pay $10 more for golden tiger? I can get it here shipped for $244 a case, compared to $234 for brown bear.

The brown bear stuff is polymer. Does it store any worse than laquer coated?

I thought Wolf had a patent on the polymer coating. I think Brown Bear is not polymer coated but they might have a deal with Wolf. Th Polymer coated stuff is said to not store very well in damp as the cases tend to rust. The Golden Tiger is the eppitoam of excellence. The Wold quality is lowest. It has deep set primers and other quality issues. Brown Bear is usually good stuff.

Heh, well they're sold out of the polymer stuff. Just checked it. It was at ammunitiontogo. They still had it 2 days ago, but oh well. Here was the link. (http://gun-deals.com/deals/4052)

The laquer brown bear they have is $5 more.

I'm just gonna go ahead and get the GT. Shot nearly 1k of it and never had a problem.

I think Wolf is highly underrated,I've shot thousands of rounds of it with no problems over the years.Brown Bear is good too.I've never shot Golden Tiger, but I'm leaning on getting a case of it because I've never owned any of it.

The GT is just as good as any other, also the box is neat and fires my rocket.

I have had a bunch of different stuff from rusia in that 7.62x39. I have shot 1000s of rounds of it. Always goes bang. I cant tell a differance between them. They are all dirty. Still have some golden tiger. It reminds me of the old wolf before they had the wolf classic. Greenish laquer on the case and the primer n bullet are sealed. The 20 rnd boxes that the ammo come in might be different but I have noticed that the ammo symbols appear to always be the same so Ive just guessed that it is the same sanctioned stuff just wrapped different because of the factories locations

I like the Golden Tiger the best. Heck of alot more accurate than the Wolf black box. I need to buy more.

From what I have shot in Russian I would rate them as follows:

1. Silver Bear
2. Golden Tiger
3. Brown Bear
4. Wolf Military Classic
5. Wolf Black Box.
