I just got it in the mail and put it together its pretty cool I cant test fire it till next week.
I bought it used it was missing some small parts and had to make up a couple
spacers and still need to make up the mag release pins.

Impress me, put a pair of 1919s on there!!
Or put an electrick motor and v-belt wheel on it, actuated with a doorbell button. If your real clever, use a 12 volt motorcycle starter motor and a small motorcycle battery....

i had 2 1919s but sold one couldnt afford to feed them both .
If i was going to put a motor on it i dont think the feds would like it !!
I would use a 12 volt with a contactor and a foot peddle then ad a shoulder strap,,, but all that would be a dream.

Junkman,
This begs the question.... What variety of 10-22 mags do you use to get decent reliablility and how long do they last before replacement or maintenance...???
AND!!!!!! where are they the cheapest???

Does anyone know if a fella by the name of Bill Akins had anything to do with the design of this beast. (here is a news link on his "Akins Accelerator " http://www2.tbo.com/content/2007/dec/18/211606/pasco-marksmans-invention-leads-him-ruin/) If so I met him once at a FSN shoot in Florida. Interesting fella he was.

It's a movie which is Grossly sarcastic about office personalities, politics, and protocal.... When I was an engineer in my former life, it wasn't to far from the truth. W/ current job, it's still eerily close... It IS worth a watch, you should laff some, I promise. Irony alone in the show is funny.... You'll recognize the quote the miniute you hear it....;)

tested it today it kinda works she did fire but not great I need to make some adjustments, the cam's wont let the triggers reset all the time and I have to figure out why some of the ruger pins walk out of the rifles I can understand the mag release pins but not the 3 upper ones .

The 3 pins in the 10/22 receiver are normally kept from falling out by the Ruger stock. When you take the 10/22 action out of that stock, the pins will frequently fall out. As another poster mentioned, you can hold them in place with electrical tape. But there are several ways to permanently keep them from falling out without using tape.
You might try the Kidd's receiver pin set that has pins that are held in place by screws so they will not fall out for the two small receiver pins. They come in a kit with a countersink drill bit so that you can countersink the area of the receiver where the counter sunk screw heads on the Kidds kit go. A simple, effective and cheap fix if you don't want to rely on tape to hold them in. Here's a link to where you can get them. They are available with the countersink bit included at this link.......

Or if you have your own countersink bit, you can purchase them a little cheaper without the countersink bit at this link.....
http://coolguyguns.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=11&products_id=4
That will fix the two smaller pins from falling out. Now regarding the larger bolt stop pin immediately behind the bolt that also wants to fall out. The purpose of that larger pin is to keep the bolt from being able to try to fall out and thus jam, if the pin is not in place. It also acts as a bolt stop if you have a weak mainspring or are using VERY hot .22 ammo. The bolt will slap the pin in those cases but it rarely slaps the pin at all normally using standard ammo.
There are replacements for that larger bolt stop pin that are called bolt buffers. These buffers are soft and will not mar your bolt if your bolt travels back far enough to strike the pin and will also prevent stress cracks in your receiver around the bolt stop pin hole. Some look just like a hot glue stick and some like the Kidd's versions, use a soft outer part with a smaller pin inside. The Kidd's version also will not fall out. You can also get the bolt stop replacement pin kit from Kidds at this link......
http://coolguyguns.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1
You can easily make your own replacement bolt stop pin "buffer" by using hot glue sticks. Just remove the steel pin and place the appropriate sized hot glue stick into the hole letting a little stick out on each side. Then heat each side and squish it down so it forms a "bucktail" similar to a rivited rivit on each side. Viola! You now have a bolt buffer replacement for your steel bolt stop pin that will not fall out. But if you do this, I would advise only squishing down the top side so it will not fall out due to gravity. Then you will have one smooth side where you can pull it out to remove the bolt to clean the gun so that you won't have to cut one head off of the glue stick each time you want to remove it to remove the bolt. Remember, the factory steel pin or the soft buffer pin must be removed first in order to remove the bolt.
So by using the two Kidd's kits for all three pins, or just for the two smaller pins kit and making your own "glue stick" larger bolt stop pin replacement pin, this should solve your pins falling out problems.
Happy shooting!

Hi professor. Hope we get to meet again sometime at the range.
I've made a few other things in addition to my Accelerator rifle stock that the others here may not know about and this post should explain why you were wondering if I had anything to do with the other crank fired twin barreled firearm in this thread since you must have seen my prototypes last time we met.
My crank fire dress up kit prototypes for the Ruger 10/22 are completely different from the twin barrel crank fire kit in this thread, except that they also crank fired using a crank fire trigger adapter made by another company that is legally not a machine gun.
I have made versions that look like a Browning 1919 and a truly water cooled version that looks like a Browning 1917. Yes it really is water cooled which is nice when I start crank firing multiple 50 rd mags through it and it never overheats like the air cooled version does that I have to let cool down after about 200 rds. No modifications are done to the Ruger 10/22's at all. They simply fit right into my prototype stocks.
Here's a video link of them firing at the range taken last year before I had added the cone flash suppressors to both of them.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFkGUC7Bo5U
And here's another video link of a nice slide show of them after I put cone flash hiders on both of them.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2F7f17m8TJM
Here's a few pics of my prototypes. They both will fit onto various full size machine gun tripods, or using an adapter I made, will also both fit onto any standard camera tripod. Which makes it very comfortable to shoot them standing up or sitting on a bar stool like I do. Kind of like using an MG42 anti-aircraft tripod.

The current 3rd prototype I am working on has a universal fake receiver that will work for both air and water cooled models and will allow a quick change between being an air cooled perforated shroud Browning 1919 style version, to a Browning 1917 water cooled style version in just a minute. I also made a few improvements on how the water jacket seals around the barrel to prevent coolant leakage as well as how the Ruger receiver is secured inside the fake receiver that is completely different from my first two prototypes as well as a few other improvements on other things that I learned from making the first two prototypes.
I am still working on it and there are still a few more parts to make but a lot of it is finished. I hope to market these sometime in the future as a kit as well as market plans for those who would like to make their own. But nothing for sale right now and no cost projections yet for kits or plans of my final 3rd prototype.
Here's a few pics of my final (hopefully!) third prototype under construction.

This below pic shows my 3rd prototype with the 1919 Browning style air cooling shroud that can be quick changed to the truly water cooled water jacket Browning 1917 style. That template fake receiver has since been discarded for another one and the top cover has also been discarded for a redesigned one. The reason I am showing this pic is because it is the only pic I have of the new 3rd prototype with the perforated air cooling shroud. More hole perforations have been added to the shroud since this pic was taken.

I know that it's illegal to do it..... But it would be fun!
its that mindset which set the tone for most of my juvenile life
yep
Bill Akins
I finished making the fake receiver front plate today. This plate will eventually have a short pin in it that will go into an indentation on the rear of the water jacket which will keep the water jacket from revolving. That will keep the sights straight. The same will be true for the air cooling shroud, so it won't rotate. This way the sights always stay aligned. This plate is also critical to the water sealing of the water jacket. These new pics also show my new receiver top cover. All it's missing is its attachment screws. Still have the sights to make yet, but it is coming together nicely. In the next few days I will be picking up a special tapered boring tool I need to cut a tapered hole.
After that we are ready to test it with water in it and check for any leaks. This is the best culmination of my three prototypes. I learned a lot building the first two. I've changed and improved a lot of things on this latest one. It has a built in bolt recoil buffer, the water jacket seals totally different from my first water cooled prototype and the Ruger receiver mounts completely differently inside the fake receiver compared to the first two prototypes. Also on this 3rd prototype, since I have now standardized the fake receiver, the only thing you have to do to change between being air cooled to water cooled, is to unscrew the flash hider, slide off the bushing on the end of the threaded barrel that centers the air cooled shroud around the barrel and then slide off the air cooling shroud itself. Then slide an O ring down the barrel against the front receiver plate, and then slide the water jacket on, then put a smaller O ring over the threads on the end of the barrel, and screw the flash hider back on. Violla! In just a few seconds you can change from one model to the other. It really is that easy.
Anyway, here's some new pics I took of the third prototype just tonight.

http://inlinethumb61.webshots.com/19516/2627055980099763970S600x600Q85.jpg
Pretty much all that is left to complete it is to create and install the sights and have all the aluminum anodized, and to create the block on the bottom that will allow it to fit onto any standard camera tripod and to clamp on the BMF crankfire trigger activator.
Happy shooting.
Regards, Bill.
