allesennogwat
If the first steel single stack doesn't work, keep trying. There are a few different ones. Romanian, Hungarian and Egyptian (Maadi) are a few and they are all a bit different from each other in mag catch and height. There are some Bulgarian single stack mags too.

Holy crap zombiekiller !!
You realized theres no living dead so you came out of your bunker :sidegrin_

zombiekiller

Goodoleboy
I'm not a thumbhole guy, but that is some sweet ass wood, bro. I'd be proud of it, and I shoot southpaw.
junkmanted
Dude Keith would remove the wood save it because its nice and mount a custom folder on it then mount a 2 foot bayo off of who knows what gun then make up some kinda vented hand gaurds.
Then make you cry from the other side of the river because we cant have that bad stuff on it then give us the finger :laugh_sma :laugh_sma
junkmanted
Well the Romanian's dont fit !
The catch is off I'm going to ad some steel with the mig welder and reshape it .
allesennogwat
There are quite a few Maadi and some Hungarian single stack mags around.

maybe I should post a WTB

This is a very very high quality rifle! You shuld be proud of what you have there, not a bad word on the WASR series, but the Zastava PAP 7,62 is the top of the range, and I guess the only thing close to it in terms of finish, fitting and accuracy is some of the Finnish Sako/Valmet models.
Interestingly, it has the military-style M70 sliding lock on the back of the receiver to keep the receiver cover in place.
I would like to try that bulged foregrip on my M70, I guess that would make a significant difference in controlling the rifle. :)
The gas block, sight leaf and front sight post of these rifles are said to be of the exact same pattern that's found on the Iraqi Tabuk sniper rifle and some of the Iraqi Tabuk M70 Assault Rifle copies.

I don't like the thumbole stocks but that's a really nice looking rifle.
Has anyone tried any modifications to this rifles like they did with the Mak-90s.
Jaimenv
How about the scope mount bracket, did you got one for the rifle?
Also have you tried and see if any other scope bracket will fit to the side rail?

Thats some cool information thanks
Jaimenv
I dont have a scope bracket for it so I dont know

You welcome, junkmanted. :)
I was wondering, if you had the rifle out one day, could you post a picture of the receiver's inside, showing the rear trunnion and how the pistolgrip is attached? I suspect that your rifle has a t-nut to hold the pistolgrip in place, as opposed to the riveted feature on my M70 AB2. :)

YES PLEASE :smile_sma
the lack of details is why i havent picked one up yet. i "heard" that it would be tough to open the magwell for 30 rd mags, and id like to see if there are any other differences between the PAP and the M70's

always happy to pull out a gun :D

Is the barrel chrome lined?
MPIKMS-72
Hey, thanks for the great pictures, junkmanted!
It seems like I was wrong about the t-nut, your rifle has the riveted pattern of grip attachment point much like the military M70-models, but is that the head of a screw going down into the pistolgrip? I could be wrong on this, but it sure looks like that there is a screw going from top to bottom, an unusual way of attaching the grip, but it makes sense if the pistolgrip has no hole at the bottom [which is usual for AK pistolgrips]. Does the pistolgrip of your rifle have a hole in the bottom for a screw to enter?
It appears that your rifle has the exact same rear trunnion as the Zastava M70 B1 rifle.
Great pictures, and thank you so much, I found them very interesting! :)

The cheek rest will come handy as soon as the scope brackets come in ;) .

I went to a show sat and brought one of the mags to match up I found 1 unmarked mag with the mag catch in the right spot but I needed to file down the front then I found a Romanian that fit fine.
You wouldn’t believe the difference in the Romanian SS mags the mag catch's,,, a good 3/16 up and down.
I test them for feeding seem to be ok
