Is this real? Were some of these imported before 1989? I have never seen one of these rifles before.

One guy thinks so. It could be a scam bid to promote interest though. It should
be marked with a "56" somewhere I would think. I tried to photoshop the writing
on the receiver to see but couldn't get it to clear up. I don't think it's an accident
that the receiver markings aren't clearly displayed in the photos or even described. It's probably marked in chinese "U-BEN-TUK" :laugh_sma

Looks like an NM-47 and certainly worth a Grand.

The National Match NM-47's were milled receivers with absolute markings to verify. Top of the line stuff equal in craftmanship to the legendary,.... Legend AK47S type 56.

Ken in Pa.

Looks like the real deal to me, then again I am no expert.

The bipod placement looks correct to me, ahead of the front sight base.
Check out the 3rd post picture, this one looks like a .223 version of the same, look at the bipod placement and furniture.

Polytech were milled recievers for the National match. only Norinco brought in long barrel stamped reciever rifles. if it is 922 ok, then $700 would be a good deal. still an early import.
just my 3 cents.
