Removing PSL stock

Greetings, all.

I'm trying to remove the stock of my PSL. The grip screw and the front, top screw are easily removed.

The top back screw- the one that screws into what reminds me of a slotted Life Saver candy is giving me some issue. The end of the machine screw looks like someone peened it over the life saver.

Any tricks for removing it?

I'm trying to partially break down my PSL so I can ride my motorcycle to the range.

If you have access to a Dremel that helps. I used a cut-off wheel to slice through the slot in the nut. That allows room to then use a drift punch to cave in the rest of the peened screw end toward the center. It may take a little force to break through the remaining burrs but it`ll give way.

This is exactly what I had to do. After the bolt was removed I had to lightly tap on the stock to remove it from the receiver.

I am having the same problem with mine. I need pics to understand what you mean by cutting it.

You will be cutting into the bolt that is located on the top of the butt stock. Cut from underneath and try to do as little damage the washer/nut as little as possible. You may need to replace the bolt if you cut it to much.

this is the milling bit I used. I chucked it up in My
18 volt cordless drill. (I bought the bit at a local
Bi Mart.) Then I unscrewed the bolt back
up till the staked portion catches the nut.

Finally I removed the disfigured portion of the screw
shaft by milling it off flush with the nut. It came right off after
a few minutes. If you go this rout You will have to hold the rifle
and drill pretty tight and make the cut slow!!!!
The bit will want to jump off the screw and eat Your rifle or leg.:evil:
I got lucky though and it seemed to work out fine.
