Anybody ever have this problem?

I took out my new WASR (New Beater AK..) out and it is brand new never been fired. It began to jam right off the bat. I took off the top cover and right away noticed that the return spring was making contact with the hammer. I removed the spring and it appears the spring is to long, it is compressed to the point that the spring ends up bulging out instead of straight, thus allowing the spring to catch the hammer.

Had this same problem with my new WASR 10/63. It was actually the Mag latch sitting to low though.

The spring will coil up regardless of length and because of diff in tolerances/design, some sprigs will be longer than others... I'm w/ Aaron on this one... You need to slide by after work one day, T W or Th, and we can study it in detail... Just shoot me a message MWAG and we can do it... May drop by today, 10-14-09... laters

I figured it out, the inner retainer was crimped, thus not allowing full compression of the spring. It was also as crooked as a politician... New one ordered and on it's way..
