View Thread: Milled SLR95 price check.

I have a SLR95 in layaway (yes another one :) ), and want to find out if $811.00 bucks is reasonable.
It is still in stock (sporter config.) and looks in great shape.
Oh yea no scope mount bracket, what gives? Is this one a early one?
It looks just like this one http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.ak-47.net/images/slr95/slr95.gif&imgrefurl=http://www.ak-47.net/ak47/slr95.php&usg=__0Oovlgx5iayaO-5ttCN0peEoXmI=&h=163&w=307&sz=35&hl=en&start=23&um=1&tbnid=BHbOsiu7wdkhpM:&tbnh=62&tbnw=117&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dslr%2B95%2Brifle%26ndsp%3D20%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1T4GGLL_enUS313US313%26sa%3DN%26start%3D20%26um%3D1

I had a chance to buy one for $249 in 1996 at a gunshow.
Also had a chance on an Ingram MAC-10 for the same price at the same show.
Still kicking myself.
Can't own 'em all I guess.

Sold my milled receiver MAK90 today for $850.00, I know it sounds cheap, but considering that AK rifle prices are coming down I figure I did good since I only had $600.00 in to it.
This will help me get the SLR95 out of layaway faster.
As far as I can tell the SLR95 at $811.00 price tag is about average for 2009 $$$.

Yes, early models did not have a scope mount bracket.
Looks like a nineties model from the pics.
Great rifles, you'll love it.

I walked around the most recent guns show with a SAM5r like new advertised at 930.. but it came with 8 magazines... I got a couple of bites but nothing serious... looks like I should put it up on gunbroker.

I do not believe SLR 93/95 rifles had optics rails installed. At $800 + it is a reasonable but not a great price. AK prices are dropping pretty quickly.

The USA made clones of the SLR 95 had the optics rail installed, this is what I have found out.
I agree that the price is reasonable and not the best at $811.00, but I have to take in consideration that this is the only SLR 95 I have run in to locally that I can personally handle and look up close. Also $599.00 is a great starting price, I am going to keep an eye on this auction and see what the rifle finally sells if it sells, the auction still has 21 days to go.

I know the feeling when you go and try to sell a rifle that you know is a good buy and there is no buyer. In the past I just take the rifle home and try again at another show or put it in the paper and or trade.
My experience is that patience pays.
PS.The truth is that some rifles do hold their value more than others, even when prices drop. I have learn that if you find something you like, you have to make a decision fast or later regret it when it is gone. This may just be the time to buy an store for later when the prices go up again, should be a better investment than the stock market :).

I:).
I have never heard of a USA made clone. I thought SLR 95/93 rifles were Bulgarian built imports. No optics rail but maybe I missed that. My SLR has no optics rail.

This here is most likely the culprit.
