View Thread: Weathering an AK74?

Well.... im debating... Ive seen pics. of weathered ak 74's in legit photos and all.. and Ive seen plenty of people weather theyre ak47 builds...but not 74's...and.. im thinking of doing my 74.... would this be wise? anyone ever done it before? more trouble than its worth?

I would use the finest steel wool I could find and rub the rifle very gently to avoid leaving scratches.

Call me old fashioned. I would not artificially induce wear, I would acquire it honestly with use (or purchase a rifle which had acquired it thusly -- I have bought many well used firearms, but not specifically because they were well-used) or live with the horrors of an unfuglied rifle, but that's just me. Beating tables with chains to "antique" them always seemed very wrong to me as well.
