Ribbed top cover for a chinese receiver??

Is there such a beast that will fit the thicker stamped chinese receiver guns? Love the look of the ribbed top covers found on the maadis and Russian guns.


My gun is a norinco chinese AK47.

I put them on mine with no troubles. I prefer the ribbed top cover and the ventless gas tubes. Sometimes I have to mod the tubes to get them to fit but it is no big deal.

The euro receiver covers will fit. They are much thinner and not as durable. The vented tube is designed for the non-vented gas block on the Chinese AK. A non-vented gas tube is designed for a vented euro gas block vs the Chinese type. It will work, however.
Just be sure to save the original parts for resale purpose. The added parts from a euro AKM will devalue the Chinese pretty substantially at resale.

I absolutely agree with AKBLUE. Save the original parts. The Chinese guns are excellent quality the way they are, But I also like the Euro look. But always keep the original parts, modify the new parts to fit the gun, never the gun to the new parts. I parkerized all my rifles because I like the more durable matte finish. I really don't like the shiney blac paint or blued steel. When I park the guns and the new parts it all goes together with a real nice look to them.

The Iranians have copied the Chinese Type-56 as the 'Diomil KL 7,62 Assault Rifle', and they issue their guns with ribbed top covers;

They also appear to use synthetic furniture, and the pistol grip looks like a copy of the one found on the East German MPiKM/MPiK-AK-74N, although without the sharp diamond-shaped 'pebbles'.
