View Thread: need help identifying this krink...Is it a yugo m92?

drbones2nd
Looking at possibly buying a transferrable krink and was curious if this was a bulgarian or yugo M92? It is chambered for 7.62x39 and my gut says its a yugo with a side folding stock and the dealer that has it is not sure. Is there any for sure way to tell? Markings etc??? This is a transferrable machinegun.

Here are 3 pics.

Thanks,

1) your pictures suck
2) the Yugos did not use side folding stocks
3) it appears to be a "franken-gun".

Black_Wolf

I see Yugo, Russian and or Bulgarian parts and russian selector markings.

Need a close up of the left side of the rear site block and trunnion

LuzRD
looks like an M92 kit built with a sidefolder, and the wrong markings on the receiver.
front end, top cover, bolt carrier, pistol grip, selector lever=M92
looks like he swapped the U/F for a S/F and used the corresponding receiver, so he got rusky markings

I agree with you Luz. Its not politically correct having a side folder but it probably is a lot more comfortable to shoot.

You guys are harsh :p

Hell, it's transferable, it can be whatever it wants to be, and that is the best explanation as to why it's got a side folder on it and those markings. It was probably already cut for it and when the M92's came in the owner at the time swapped out the front end.

Might I add you do not want to call it an M92, even though it mostly is.... You gotta call it an M86. Know what I mean? :wink_smal . I doubt your paperwork is going to say M92 or Yugo on it.

Since you've got the coin, you might want to find a REALLY good sheet metal worker and have it sealed up, grab yourself the underfolder and make it right.

I've seen this advertized. It started life as a M92. Keep in mind that home builders are not authorized to sell their wares unless they jump through some legal hoops. That would be the thing to check....does it have a serial number, etc.

LuzRD
what legal hoops? my understanding is that they cant be built with the intent to be sold, but if you happen to sell a homebuild (or a couple) its not an issue

. . not sure what you guys are on about.

If this is a transferable machine gun (as the OP states), many legal hoops have been jumped through, and it was definitely not a "home build".

Y'all know that "the customer is always right" (even when they want the big fish tail and fuschia paint on the Cadillac Brougham)

LuzRD
...was the OP edited?!? i dont remember those details from when i first posted.

now that i realize its a transferable machine gun id say...

ive seen mention of some people using a transferable machine gun (receiver) as the basis of a custom build. this is a way for those that can afford a $15,000, legal, full auto, kit built gun lmao.
they'll cough up the $14k (or whatever they cost now) for a class 3 rifle, and then remove everything from the receiver and rebuild it with what they want (in this case an M92 kit and a side folder).
THAT is why it has Russian markings, its an actual Rusky AK47 that got a face lift (or would that be a nose job??)

More likely a Chinese AK that got a total makeover.

No Russian AKMs are in the NFA registry that I know of.

KernelKrink
LuzRD has the scoop, to be a transferable MG the receiver must be pre-May 1986 and someone later rebuilt it as this FrankenKrink. Someone wanted a Krink style toy and that is the only way to get one legally. It may have even been rebuilt several times, which would explain the mix of features.

The transfer paperwork should list the original receiver maker. Most likely a Chinese, Maadi, or Mitchell imported Yugoslavian. I doubt anyone would cut up an original Russian bringback or Amnesty gun, but stranger things have happened.

The front trunnion rivet pattern is Chinese.

Nice peice...even though it's not a purebread. Has all the nice features...
sidefolder.. short barrel.. 7.62... and it's a transferable gun...
It's too bad the original Chinese receiver had to be used to build it legally though.
Definately a Yugo front end installed in a Chinese front trunion.
How much $$ ?? If you don't mind me asking...

The seller was asking $14,500. And for those that were wondering. It is a transferrable machinegun built on a chinese receiver.

I have since acquired a different krinkov that is in transfer to me now. It is a bugarian kit 7.62x39 built on a registered transferrable chinese norinco receiver aka a legally registered machinegun.

Will post some pics when it arrives.

I had a opportunity to pick up one of this, but not full auto.

The P-shop wanted $699.00 + tax. It had a 5" or so barrel extension with an ugly weld job @ the under side, hand guards where loose and the side folder stock assembly work/fit in to the receiver was lacking for my taste.

Oh yea it had a Ohio Cleveland mark receiver best I could make out. As mentioned here it looked like a Franken jobber  .
