View Thread: Anybody mount NSPU on a PSL???

jennymikeb
Need help. My new NSPU scope fits the AK fine but doesn't seat on the PSL rail.

The upper rail on the PSL optics rail is longer than the lower, its serves as a lead to help line up the standard day scope when mounting - that's clear.

Question is, do I mill off the upper rail on the back of the PSL mount or mill open the back of the NSPU dovetail which is closed to form a backstop?

Any previous experience base out there? I really don't want to pay to have the long PSL rail removed and a shorter dragunov rail riveted on since it would involve undoing the center support rivet.

I would mill/cut the scope bracket, I had to do the same thing when fitting a Saiga scope mount just like this one on my PSL

I ended up cutting a slot for the upper PSL scope rail to slide trough and stop on the lower rail.

Mind you if I had any doubt on keeping the scope or using it on a different rifle, I would not cut in to it at all, since the scope/bracket assembly is sort of unique as it is.

Double check the fit again before doing something drastic!.....mine fits my PSL just fine. It doesnt have to slide all the way to the front of the rail, check your eye relief it should be spot on. Second, your scope may need the lock-up clamp adjusted, it can be losend to custom fit any rail.

I'll try adjusting it.
