View Thread: PSL ammo on clearance at Midway

Not bad for today's prices, considering it's new production light ball.

Evan as new production light ball, $430+/1000 for non-reloadable ammo is no real bargain. Boxer primed brass cased, maybe, but not bi-metal Berdan primed.

I'll stick to the Bulgarian LB at Sportsman's Guide for the time being.

Thanks for the heads up, though!

Thats actually not a bad price its about 25 cents a shot with shipping. The russian I have gotten are still only 22 cents each with shipping and the bulgarian from sportsman guide is still 20 cents a round. I am not really impressed with wolf and their ammo though so I will stick with my russian or bulgarian rounds too.

This stuff is likely to be more consistent in weight as well. I think I have read Wolf generally produces better accuracy than mil surp. Might be worth grabbing a few boxes at least.

J&G sells 440-round tins of Bulgarian for $85 a tin ->

But WAIT! you could always buy the exact SAME 440-round tin of Bulgarian from Midway now on "sale" (marked down from $230) for the low, low price of $200 a tin ->

I hate to say it, but Midway lost my business nearly 2 years ago over stupid crap like this, and I used to drop major $ on brass, bullets, and various accessories every couple of months or so. Now all my business goes to vendors that don't think I've got shit-for-brains and am too stupid to shop their prices out...

Buh-bye Midway!!! :rofl_smal

That's 200 for TWO tins actually. Still not as good as 85 per tin though.

The wolf 148gr is supposed to be among the best ammo out there for a PSL.

OPPs! my bad... I originally saw the add in last months sales flyer and apparenly was "fixated" on the photo of the single tin.

I still gave up on Midway since nearly everything I used to buy from them is cheaper from other places not to mention that other vendors ship for less as well.

I agree with Slick. Midway was one of the more affordable internet vendors a few short years ago, and then their prices went up above several others.

I guess I still need to shop around more cause I found midway to be pretty cheap with shipping on my blackhawk holster, harris bipods, targets, and a few cleaning products. I felt shipping was damn fast since two days later it is always at my house. Everyone bragged about cheaperthendirt to me and I found if you order from them via the phone it was about 20 bucks more then online.....everytime I tried to order online it wouldn't work which is strange. Another great place to order from is specops.com. The have some rare items and really cater to the military and civilian shooter.

I used to order a lot from CTD - until this past "ammo shortage" when they tried to scalp .223 for $989 per thousand. I'll pay a dollar a round for .223 when hell freezes over.

Midway always had good customer service, but their price hikes and inflexable (double-charge) shipping of back ordered items put me off in a big way. Same thing with CTD's price-gouging on ammo. I've abandoned those vendors in favor of ones that treated customers fairly during the "sales rush" and will continue to keep them as my suppliers now that the rush is dying down.

Hopefully companies like Midway and CTD will realize that crapping on their customers drove many away (forever).

Double Charges on back orders??? What do you mean. Reason I ask is I have backordered about 150 rounds of shotgun ammo for my 16 guage.

If you place an order and something in that order is on back order, they will charge you shipping twice. Once for the stuff that is in stock and then again for the stuff that was back ordered, when it ships.

Yep... I never really had a major problem with this policy (of Midway's), because I simply delete any out-of-stock items from my order. Once I overlooked an Uncle Mikes set of pistol grips (backordered) and wound up paying $10 to ship a $15 "sale" item. Suffice to say, I was not happy.

i wouldn't put this stuff within 10 feet of any of my guns. i put 20 rounds of this through my nagant PE sniper and u may as well just glue the action shut.

A sticky bolt in a MN rife? Perish the thought!

Cerberus
Dang Requiem, you just got all sorts of gun issues. First you PSL sling turns gay on ya, and now your MN won't fire surplus ammo it was designed for.

requiem
just that ammo... no other ammo ever stuck in my 91/30. no sticky bolt here...unless wolf copper washed ammo is in it.

that sling comment was below the belt! :tongue_sm

No why they call it MIDWAY????Because thier prices are so high that just by visiting thier site they slip it in midway. Then when you submit your order they slam it home :uhoh_smal
