View Thread: Russian vs Bulgarian?

Any advantage of one over the other?

Why do some folks prefer either Russian or Bulgarian?

Black_Wolf
You talking mags or Rifles?

I have never even seen a real marked commie 74 kit or a complete rifle.

The closest has been the Bulgy two rivet guide sidefolders which are indeed russian that have been scrubbed and re stamped.

Hard to make a comparison between those two.

From everything I've read the Bulgarian is almost an exact copy of the Russian, and purposely so. Can't imagine much difference between the two even if you could find Russian parts....

Here is my attempt at a Russian clone. Built from a Bulgarian kit with the double rivet bullet guide. It is as close to a Russian 74 as I can afford to do.

Yeah, seen that before.

Nice Rifle, dude.

You did good on that copy!

I dont think Russian 74 kits were ever imported here?

I could be wrong, and maybe a few found their way here, but I have NEVER seen a Russian 74 kit for sale anywhere.

I wish I had as I would have one!

Yeah, but I'm talking Mil Surp.

A Saiga would be great but a real deactivated rusky built on a spud would be tits!

My SLR-105 has the double rivet guide.

When I ordered my Bulgarian AKS74 kit from ORF last yr. I specifically asked for the double rivet bullet guide so they must come in both flavors.
