To anyone interrested. I plunked down the $380 including shipping to buy one of the Russian NSPU's that are currectly available on Gunbroker from a seller in Scandanavia. I will report the following:
-Scope got here in 8 days
-Scope works perfectly
-Already has AA battery adapter hard installed
I tested for function and it works prefectly. It came in the original Russian steel chest with the following accessories:
-Complete spare parts package
-three original wet cell batteries
-Manuals in Russian and English
-Sight cams for every modern soviet long gun
This scope is clearly NOT a Soviet Army device, it is a commercial military export product. It looks like it was made in June of 1986 in Siberia, shipped to East German military, then re-exported to Finland by a German company in the 90's. I put it on a AKM and it seems to be the coolest, Star Trek accessory I have ever purchased. I will take it to Indiana to test for function in action next week. All in all, it is a great military quality scope. I plan on purchasing a PSL to use it on this fall.
Fear not on these, he ships FAST, the scopes are well packed, complete, are better than he advertises and work perfectly. Typical Gen 1+ sight picture, much better and brighter than cheaply made Russian commercial quality scopes I have used.

These are the photos I took as I unpacked the NSPU 1PN34 night vision rifle scope. I got the scope from a seller in Scandanavia. Best buy I made in 10 years. I have confirmed that it works as it should. I must say that it is much better than the AN/PVS2 I previously tried.

Has anyone else tried one of these? I wnt to read others experiences. I'm going to post pictures of my test target when we shoot it at night soon. Please let me know your experiences.

Good to hear you are satisfied. These scopes out now came available early this year from Finnish Defence Forces warehouses and the lot is allmost sold out :small_gri
I have permanent:
"Buy a scope set for $349 + $80 USD shipping to U.S and Europe"
on http://nspu1pn34.googlepages.com
Just one click and you can buy a set with paypal.
The site has also some pictures of repair sets I can offer.
By the way, this scope NSPU 1PN34 does not use (or need) IR search light. It is passive device and uses only available ambient light, usually one or two stars is enough. And since passive it should be legal in California also.
The first geneneration tube used in 1PN34 and 1PN58 has three stages.
1.st stage intencifies ambient light from object
2.nd stage intencifies the image produced by the 1st stage
3.rd stage produces image for eyepiece from previous stages
So could be said that it operates like three yukons in serie and beats some 2.nd Gen devices...

How would one buy if they don't use paypal??

Posting late tonight Eastern US time. I took the scope out tonight and used it, it is shocking for light applification.
The perimeter field of view is slightly over magnified / distorted, but the internal 85% is sharp. Night vision is exceptional, can see the whole neighborhood with sharp clarity.
WAY better than anything I have tried before including similar priced commercial toys. Extremely high tech device, all one would need for this application.

I see you beefed up your packaging for shipping. My box got a little banged up by the rear hinge and is hard to open and close, so I don't open and close it much!

It has been this packing for many months now (heavy paper + corner support cartons) so I am not sure if you get your scope from me, some sellers ship these without cover at all...
There was one set which has been dropped from very high during shipping and the box was bend. I did send new box for that buyer.
I can offer some scope sets with free postage. So send email or PM

Really becoming interested in these. I just bought a POSP 4x24 I'm waiting on, but if I buy another optic it might be this one...

Please consider that it will not fit the Romanian PSL without milling. I thought it would fit based on web opinion. Fact is that the PSL rail, while having correct dovetail geometry, is too long and the scope will not lock onto the gun without mill work.
jennymikeb
It fits the WASR rail fine...already used on one. Just a nogo on PSL.

I bought one a few months ago and it was at my door in 7 days. I thought it functioned real good and was a pretty cool toy for the money.

Member SVDS over at AKforum has them, I think he is also selling them over on Gunbroker and Ebay. He is good to go, I have ordered several things form him before.
